The rootbeer can be at the same pressure/line length as the regular beer? I was under the impression the pressure for soda needed to be more than double beer and that the line needed to be longer... not doubting you, just wanted to clarify.

I don't think the rootbeer drinker will ever tire of it but who knows. That being said I see what you're saying about replacing the line if that day comes. From what I've read previously, rootbeer seems to stain the line from a taste and aroma standpoint rather quickly.

And you're completely right about the keg being heavy. Plan is to have the keezer be on casters and mount an electric winch to the 2x10 floor joist. Take the heavy lifting right out of it. Fortunately where the keezer is going has exposed joists above it

    Don't worry about working out.
A half bbl does not fit in a chest freezer. And the 50L bbl is just a slight bit less wide.

Well, it will if you get the 22 cu ft freezer. That is what I have and trust me when I tell you you do not want Kegasaurus in your life.

You a married man Iceman? You want to stay married?

    Cheers.

If she has any say in it, we will be soon lol. We both went and looked at the 15 cu/ft whirlpool WZC3115DW last night. External dimensions of 48"L x 31"W. Internal dismessions between the walls were at 21.8". Contacted local retail shop and they say keg will be no more than 17" in diameter. To me that gives me almost 5" of wiggle room. Internal height with door closed was 28.5". Add in a small collar and I should have room to spare. Am I missing something? (Not trying to be a smart*ss. Genuinely asking because I don't pretend to know more than I do)
