I would stick with true Belgian beers, and that means from Belgium. I would include a good range of styles, from your typical golden (Duvel), to Abbey styles (Chimay, Orval, Achel, Leffe), doubles and triples as well as a sour or two. If you can put together a 12 pack of 750ml that should be a great place to start a party. Cheers!

I'm a little late to this party But if you want some decent belgian style ales. Unibroue makes some great ones, If you dont think your friend likes stronger beers, their blanche de chambly is a nice belgian witbier, light and easy drinking, if she likes stronger belgians Maudite (dark) La fin du monde(lighter fruits) would be good beers. Duvel is never a bad choice but can come off as strong to a light drinker the same goes with the trappist beers for the most part. Leffe would also work for a decent lighter style. cheers!
