Have car, will go in search of beer outside the 5 boroughs. I've already done Barrier, Singlecut, Kane, and NEBCo. What's my next top priority? I'm looking for destinations within an hour or two, so no Treehouse.
You can easily do Hudson Valley Brewing in Beacon and then continue north and hit Sloop followed by Suarez (which are both within 5 minutes of each other). Another option is Industrial Arts then Rushing Duck then Equilibrium.
I should mention, I'm a hophead. As in juicy IPAs are my friend. What *one* brewery should be my top priority?
Agree with this, but think that Suarez makes killer pale ales that are a thing of beauty. And their lagers will make converts of the IPA-obsessed.
Agreed that Suarez makes a lot of interesting stuff. It's refreshing to see a brewery making kickass pilsners when a lot of places don't even have one on their taplist. It's hard to not recommend Eq though since OP asked for juicy IPAs. Other than Casey and There and Back Again, that's all they make.
I'd definitely recommend the Hudson Valley. You could easily do Hudson Valley/Newburgh, then jump right back on 87 and head up for Sloop/Suarez.
What about tired hands? A bit far but they do have juice bombs. And I hear the food at the fermentaria is good too
Magnify and Alementary in NNJ. Rushing Duck - Industrial Arts and Equilibrium in NY state - if you don't mind driving south you have more options including Kane, Carton, Conclave and Troon.
To not reiterate the above, perhaps give District 96 a shot as well (i.e. Crowler’s at Burger Loft) + they usually have other Hudson Valley goods on tap as well: Equilibrium, HVB…
