I have two oz of Galaxy and 2 oz of Mosaic that I need to use. I really like both of these hops and think that they will compliment each other pretty well. I also have a 1/2 oz of centennial. I'm hoping one of you more experienced homebrewers can offer a suggestion on a good recipe for me as I have never made my own recipe. I have two packets of S-04 that I would like to use, too. I have no problem purchasing more ingredients, but I want to use up these extras in the recipe. Thoughts?

Side note, I am already brewing a Pliny clone this week, so maybe this recipe should be a non-IPA - maybe just a pale ale????? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Sounds like a good pale ale / ipa to me - maybe 10lbs 2-row pale malt, maybe a half pound of crystal 20 for a bit of interest. (or 6-ish pounds pale LME)
add an ounce of bittering hops and you're good to go. I would split the Galaxy and Mosiac 3 ways, 2/3 oz each at 10, 5 and flameout, add the centennial with that flameout.

Use the 1/2 oz of centennial to bitter and then the mosaic and galaxy at flameout. @JrGtr has the right idea for the grain bill. S-04 makes a nice APA.

Do either of you think I need to grab some more hops? That would be by far the least amount of hops that I've ever used. Of course, I've never done a APA before either. I do BIAB and actually get pretty good efficiency if that makes any difference to you. I also have never done such a late hop schedule. Thoughts?

Run it through a calculator to be sure, but I think the 1/2 oz of centennial would give enough bitterness and 4oz of FO hops will definitely give enough flavor/aroma. What AA% are your centennials and how old are they? It just occurred to me that they might not have been stored very well since it is a 1/2oz I would guess they have been open for a bit. What did you do to "preserve" the centennials?

If you are not dryhopping, you should have plenty of hops already

Thanks for the help. Yes, all of the hops are fairly old - maybe a year??? The Galaxy and Mosaic are still in the original packaging and have been in the fridge the entire time, but the Centennial was opened and then rolled up in original packaging with a rubber band. I think I will buy another oz of each hop because of this. I honestly have no idea how to use any software (just been following recipes as I dial in my process), but I would think that the extra hops should do it. Or, maybe I'll roll with it, split it, and just dry hop half of it. Thanks for the advice guys.

    60min Boil
    6# Pils DME
    .5oz Centennial @60
    1oz Galaxy & Mosaic @ FO (30+ min steep)
1oz Galaxy & Mosaic Dry hop for 5 days
Use one packet S04. Or two, I don't care.

I do BIAB, but thanks for the input Mr.OH. I have a question. If I want this to be a crisp, somewhat dry APA, would I mash in at a lower temp? Say 150?
