The Sip n Dip is an absolute must. You’ll have to google it. Not sure if the mermaids still swim this time of year though.

I don’t know the Great Falls scene very well. Do agree that it’s fun to see the mermaids. I think the main two breweries are Mighty Mo and Jeremiah Johnson but I’ve never been to either. Jeremiah Johnson distributes to my area and is alright. Last time I was in Great Falls (5+ years ago) I stopped at Black Eagle and enjoyed their stuff. If you have the time Harvest Moon Brewing Company in Belt, MT, is thirty minutes east (Nothing in our big ol’ state). Been around since the 90s and has two Montana classics: Beltian White and Pigs Ass Porter.

I’m going to Glacier NP in September. I’ll be staying in Whitefish. Any recs for breweries, bars, or a good place to eat? Thx for the assistance

I was just there a couple weekends ago showing my wife around Flathead Lake but still don’t know the whole scene that well. I’ve heard really good things about Backslope Brewing in Columbia Falls (Gateway to Glacier NP). Looks like a great way to finish off a day in Glacier. I won’t visit the area without checking them out. I went to Bonsai Brewing in Whitefish and it was fun. Nice bar food and wide range of beer plus lots of outdoor seating. There are other breweries in the town but I haven’t visited yet.

You may have better luck than us by visiting in September but every breakfast spot had at least an hour wait by 10 AM on a Saturday morning in downtown Whitefish. We wandered around long enough that we decided to drive to Flathead Lake Brewing in Bigfork for an early lunch. Not sure how much you want to drive but we sat on a deck with a tree-obstructed lake view and had great wings and solid beer at one of the older breweries in the state. It’s my favorite spot for a beer around the lake.

If you head south from Whitefish to Kalispell, Bias or Sacred Waters are the spots. A lot of visitors to Whitefish will hit Great Northern. I believe it used to be a brewery and is now a brewpub.

I have other brewery suggestions around an hour or so from Whitefish but I doubt you’re traveling all this way to drive another 90 minutes for a tasty brew. If so, let me know! Glacier is one of my favorite places on the planet. Going-to-the-Sun Road is wonderful.

Thx for the info. Gonna be tired from hiking all day so will be keeping it local. I’m super excited for the trip and some great beers would be the icing on the cake!
