I will be visiting the area, and staying on the beach with family that's in town from the frozen north.

Looking for must hit new brew spots that I may not be familiar with. I know the regulars: CCB ,Cycle, Pegs,
7th Sun, Rapp, Barley Mow etc. Is Angry Chair open yet?

Also would love some insider suggestions on the local food spots that are a must try in your opinion. Any help
    would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!!

Last I heard Angry Chair won't be open until at least March. Peg's food is pretty good. Cajun Cafe on the Bayou has excellent food and serve only FL beers on draft. If you end up over near Brandon Stine & Vine and Revolution Ice Cream are must stops.

Green Bench and 3 Daughters are now open in downtown St. Pete as well. Hitting the two of them and Cycle's new downtown location in one afternoon/evening would be no problem.

You've hit all the major players for breweries. I'll second the Stein and Vine recommendation for pub food and a great tap list.

Tampa does a few things well, the most noteworthy would be Spanish/Cuban cuisine. Dont forget the CCB Brewpub which does a great job and if you want cheap local fare for food I'd recommend the Taco Bus or West Tampa Sandwich Shop. The former is a Tampa landmark serving Mexican cuisine and the latter makes the best Cuban sandwich in town. Other good ones would be the Yummy House for good authentic Hong Kong style Chinese food, The Columbia in Ybor for Spanish/Cuban or El Puerto for Argentinian cuisine. I'm sure some other posters have some recommendations as well.

If you go to Taco Bus or Yummy House (delicious options both) don't miss out on stopping by Southern Brewing. They're a homebrew supply shop that serves a slew of in-house beers plus about a half dozen or so guest taps that are usually from other Florida breweries. And the bottle fridge has some gems from time to time. I've scored bombers from Jolly Pumpkin, Anchorage Brewing (Bitter Monk and Galaxy White IPA), and Upright Brewing. The beer garden is nice and there's a solid stream of food trucks for the weekend. Cheers!

    Jeff,
Just going to second a few of the previous suggestions and add a few. Brewers Tasting Room in Pinellas county is a good brew stop , Yummy House (Chinese)The Laughing Cat in Ybor City (Italian food) Revolution Ice Cream in Brandon.
Sorry I missed the share at FB, I got in late. Hope we can put a share together for Huna Day again and crush some brews. Cheers!

Up in Seminole Heights you can stop by The Independent and Mermaid Tavern for good beer lineups. As for food The Refinery is an awesome farm to table restaurant, and a new place Rooster &Till just opened up on Florida Ave. Willards in Largo has 40 draft lines, and always a great selection of local, and American craft. Datz's in South Tampa has great food and a great beer selection too.

CCB also has their brewpub up north on Dale Mabry. They usually have a beer or two that are brewed and only offered at the brewpub.

You covered most of them, but I created this Google doc of Pinellas Beer Joints for a recent crawl - http://goo.gl/H30gGg

CCB Brewpub is amazing, and I also recommend hitting up Datz in Tampa. Killer food (they have a bacon flight for gods sake!), and a killer tap list.

I support everything in this statement except for the part about The Columbia. It is way overpriced and the food is just okay. This is coming from someone who knows the owners personally and has been many times. Go there for the experience, but not if you are looking for the best traditional Spanish cuisine you can find. If that's what you want then Vizcaya, which is near the brewpub, is your best option. El Puerto is delicious if you end up in Ybor.

    TACO BUS. DATZ.
(Take a bottle or nine of the salsa verde home from Taco Bus. Put it on everything. You're welcome.)
