New here, just wanting a quick suggestion. I live on the east coast and recently visited the napa valley area (specifically Sonoma). At a wedding, I had a few (or several) Trumer Pils.

    oh. my. lord.

I have to have them. But it seems they are only sold on the west coast. Could someone recommend to me a beer very similar, or perhaps almost identical, to this? I loved the crispness of it.

    Thank you!

I've never had Trumer, but I had a Braumeister Pils (Victory) the other week - give that a taste

You might want to define "east coast" a bit more concise.

That said, I'd recommend Victory Prima Pils and Stoudts Pils.

Lagunitas Pils might be something worth checking out too.

I you are looking for a beer close to Trumer Pils I would suggest Stoudt’s Pils.

There are a number of other great pilsners mentioned like Victory Prima Pils and Victory Braumeister Pils (which is only available on draft) but those beers will have a more pronounced hop aroma then Trumer Pils.

You may want to try a Troegs Sunshine Pils but that beer will be more hoppy from a hop bitterness and flavor perspective.

    Cheers!

southern tier eurotrash pilz is decent (tho has crappy rating here)

i also like heavy seas small craft warning (aka uberpils)

i'd think you'd be able to get both of these on the east coast

Isn't this how beer trading starts? I send Pliny to east coast folks for Ithaca Flower Power, Bells Hopslam and 2 Hearted and other hoppy goodies.

    good luck!

Sierra Nevada Summerfest (termed a Czech Pilsner) is decent, crisp and readily available all over the east coast

Slyfox Pikeland Pils and Troegs Sunshine Pils are very good also.

Trumer is really nice and my go-to choice in hotel bars, airports, etc. when on the West Coast for business. I recommend trying what you can get FRESH in your area.

What state you live in on the east coast is a pretty important piece of information because beer distribution can vary greatly between states. Without knowing your location I would recommend Stoudt's Pils (http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/394/5411) Beach Haus might be a good alternative too (http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/24460/64928/?ba=benz08)

I think that many of the other pilsners suggested above are probably going to be significantly hoppier than Trumer. Victory Prima Pils, and Sly Fox Pils, and Troegs Sunshine Pils, although excellent beers, are very hop-forward, whereas Trumer is more malty. Be warned that the tastes of many Beer Advocates favor [or are biased to] hops. The good news is that pilseners that lean toward the malty side aren't too hard to find and there probably some very good alternatives to Trumer in your area, but since they probably don't get much attention from most people on these forums, it might take a little searching and experimentation on your own.
