Will be in Lansing, June 10th to the 17th to do some curling. Looking for suggestions on which bars and bottle shops to hit. thanks for any info you can give.

    Cheers,

None of the breweries in Lansing or East Lansing are in the 'outstanding' category. I think the best of the 5-6 breweries in the area is Mid-Town Brewing in downtown Lansing. Their beers are usually okay, plus they usually have some good beers on tap from other Michigan breweries. The food is very good there too.

Good beer bars are abundant, and Crunchy's (great burgers) and HopCat in East Lansing are probably the top hitters. There is also a Reno's East that I liked, and also a Reno's West that I have not visited.

The bottle shops that I like to hit are the Oades Big Ten Party Store on Clippert Street (or the other locations too), and Goodrich's Supermarket. Way out on the west side of Lansing is Horrocks which is worth the drive. It's just off an I-69/I-96 exit so it's easy to get to.

Assuming it is indeed Lansing, MI. I would add that checking out Taps 25 would be a good idea (http://taps25.com/whats-on-tap/). As for shops, I'd suggest Vine & Brew in Okemos. They generally have just as good selection as Big Ten but for a dollar or two less.

I swallowed my tongue reading the title of this.

Horrocks is a decent bottle store.
