Nelson showers

It's glorious. Not alpine level...but close

 

Very earthy and skunky - big skunky nose ... Not a knock on Nelson Showers, just typical of the hop. Good stuff ... get this!!!

 

Next best thing to alpine had it today well worth the 7 or 9 bucks (draft 12 oz/ bottle).

 

Yup, that's why I took my mom and dad ! Took care of the guy that got me into this craft beer money hole and the other 2 might be called for, leaving me with 2 to enjoy!

 

was considering driving down from LA. hope they still have it this weekend

 

Well, other than the line of about 15 people knocking down the door at opening, bottles didn't seem to be flying off the shelves. Of course it depends on how many they have there to sell. Can't see them selling out in only a few days though.

Citra Showers > Nelson Showers Nelson gives off the smell of Guava! Growing up with Guava trees in my back yard, I have come to hate them.

Do they fill growlers?

 

They fill very limited growlers ... definitely not their most popular beers like the Shower series, Naughty Sauce, etc ... guess that's kinda my only beef with Noble, very limited growler fills

 

Do they fill generic/blank growlers?

Hmmm. . . .not sure about currently the best IPA in LA/OC (SoCal) area. We have so many "great/better" IPA/DIPA's out of Beachwood BBQ & Brewing. Nelson is "damn" good!! It is my favorite new beer for 2014, so far. Noble is certainly one of the best in the LA/OC area. They have been killing it lately (over the last year). I would put them a step or two over Bootleggers for sure. But BWBBQ&B is the Alpine of LA/OC. No need to seek ABC's IPA's like before BWBBQ&B showed up here.

 

Any report on how many cases were allocated for the brewery this time for Nelson Showers. Citra was like 70 cases for the brewery and everything else was for distro I think. So will there be any left for the weekend. You know they will keep some cases for the party next weekend.

 

We asked the bartender and confirmed that this will hit distro like it did with CS.

My 2 cents.. like CS, NS is top tier level IPA. If you love Nelson hops like I do, this is a must have.

Alpine Nelson is my favorite beer. Kern Citra a very close second. So Noble's Showers are very good to. We'll see how next month's is.
