Any recommendations for breweries in NEPA? Last year we visited Berwick and Breaker which were good. Any other spots worth checking out?

Benny Brew or Nimble Hill are about the only other local ones. Benny is a bewpub and Nimble is a tasting room.

Wallenpaupack Brewing might be worth a stop. Food is pretty good too. Last Minute Brewing is doing some good stuff too, not sure about on-site consumption but you can find their 4 packs around the Scranton area pretty easily.

What part of NEPA? To be honest, Breaker (even though you've already been there) is probably your best bet.

My folks are around the Hazelton area.

Breaker had some decent beers last year - they were not doing flights but I recall both a raspberry sour and a mosaic ipa being really good.

Because of the Holiday? Ya, you can't go wrong with Breaker.

What about Conyngham Brewing? Pretty close. Never been there, but have tried their stuff at a couple brewfests. Not bad.

Yes, that was the case last December. Never been to Conyngham but definitely will check it out.

Sorry to have missed the original post due to busy holidays - this response is probably too late to be helpful this time around. But next time you're looking for new PA breweries to try, check out our map here. It's got all the brewery locations and hours, and most have additional details as well (food, kid friendly, dog friendly, beer to go, etc.).

Not late at all - I will be up in NEPA at the end of December. Very much appreciated!

Breaker does a lot of "milkshake" type IPAs, none of which are near as good as Tired Hands. Still, it's a solid brewery in that area.

Oh I agree that some breweries are better at executing some styles than others but that doesn't stop me from tasting their wares.

Berwick had a vanilla porter, maybe stout, last year that was fantastic imo.

Try out Turkey Hill Brewing in Bloomsburg. Right off the Lightstreet exit on I80. Great food and a real nice selection of brews. Everything from sours to barrel aged and their perrenial favorites.
