That's a real bummer--I love that side space at Haverhill Brewery, and as much as I love Portsmouth, being on the commuter rail is a huge advantage.

Yeah, used to get dropped off and picked up.
Don't think the wife is going to drive to Portsmouth to get me.
Anyone have a Groupon for the Sheraton?

The space that NERAX is usually in got rented out. I am assuming that takes place after the brewfest this weekend though.

Has it been confirmed for Portsmouth yet? I was just talking to someone about this over the weekend and he suggested his Masons' Lodge. Hopefully it was not the beer talking, but he was considering contacting NERAX about it too.

Nerax North is scheduled for Nov 8th-10th.
According to website : "we may go as far as Portsmouth"

Wow, this is bad news. Doubt I will go if it is in Portsmouth.

Hard to believe that space got rented. I had no idea the owner even wanted to rent the space. Maybe he got an offer he couldn't refuse.

Bummer. But, moving NERAX across Somerville worked out well enough. Onwards and upwards.

Guess I'm going to miss NERAX North this year. That's too bad.

Saw Jan of NERAX at Novare Res a week ago - the space in Haverhill has been rented out. I suggested Burlington, but they wanted something closer to Boston. He told me they might just use the Somerville KOC again for Nov. but hopefully other options have emerged since our conversation.

Burlington would be great. I would love to go to a NERAX event but going down to Somerville for festival is just a pain in the ass and Haverhill wasn't any better. I would love to see them make it a truly New England exhibition instead of just Boston area events but I'm sure it's enough of a logistical nightmare as it is without spreading out too far.

Closer to Boston?? How then would it qualify as "North"? Burlington is not north.
Similar question could be asked about Portsmouth, NH, since there is already a NERAX held in Portland, ME.

I'm guessing he meant Burlington VT, not MA.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the North in NERAX North means roughly the North Shore or the northern Boston metro area. Aside from the fact that there doesn't seem to be a ton of cask ale in northern Vermont, Burlington is pretty far north of the North Shore. Even Portsmouth is kind of a stretch, but at least within (or very near) the same basic region.

I'd really like to see NERAX North remain accessible by commuter rail, or at least the Downeaster. I can't see myself driving up for the event. Finding another spot in Haverhill, or maybe Lowell or even Exeter, NH would work. I'd love to see it at the new Barley Pub in Dover, but I don't think they'll be open yet and that's getting pretty far north.

I can't remember where, but I have heard multiple times that NERAX was looking to expand, with the next festival added likely to be in New Hampshire. I know that White Birch and CASC are planning to put on a cask ale festival in the Manchester area sometime this winter, so that sort of covers that. Otherwise, moving NERAX North a few miles further north would accomplish that, but I'll really miss having it at the Haverhill Brewery.

Sucked to hear that NERAX had to be moved due to a schedule conflict. Regaring your post Mike, you heard right. We are working with CASC and The British Beer Company to put on the NH Cask Ale Festival on Jan 25th & 26th. It's going to be a small 200 people per session, all inclusive event like our summer event. Full details are on whitebirchbrewing.com. Hope you can make it. cheers Bill

Ha! My bad, but shows the need to specify the State in mentions of cities.

Sorry - all of the incessant threads on "where to go in Burlington, VT" made it seem obvious to me I was not referring to the one in MA.

And I'm sorry for the typo in my post about it being VT, not MA. (I meant she, not he).

I'd love it in Burlington, VT! We need more cask beer up here! There are only a few places that always have cask in Burlington, The Farmhouse, VT Pub & Brewery, and American Flatbread.
