I recently attended the Borefts festival at De Molen in Bodegraven. I can not begin to express how fortunate I was to meet PapaEugene(Jereon), rvdoorn,(Ron) doopiedoopiedoo(Erik) & Jeffo(Jeff). These great guys either gave me a place to stay, fed me incredible meals, shared uber rare beers or taught me how to use public transportation.

If you see any of them, thank them for me. You should be proud that they the represent your country in the Beer Advocate community.

I agree 100%. I just wouldn't only put the NL BA guys in this catagory. There were a ton of British, Belgian Danish ect. people there that hooked me up beyond belief.

Borfets is the fest fest in the world. Yes the beer is great but the people are what really make it. Everyone is super friendly . It's my 2nd year in a row and I honestly think I am gonna try to go every year going forward.

Cheers to De Molen and Menno for hosting such a wonderful event.

Dude thank you.. You hooked me up with a Black Mes late night that paired excellently with that KFC chicken bucket.

If any of you guys are even in Boston.... Tender will take care of things masshole style.

We were one sexy crew, weren't we? Good times fellas. Good times.

Also, respond to my week old BM Joe. I don't want to be sending unsolicited emails to "Jen" when they should be going to "Janet." I'm about ready to flip a coin and go with it...

Thanks Joe and Tender for the kind words. You guys rock!

Joe, you also should considder coming again next year.

I know the Tender will be there. I suggest next year it will be a bucket KFC and Millenium Geuze.
I'm not running the Sunday after so the whole weekend will be dedicated to beer!

I think that the Millenium Geuze would pair better with a Donner Kabab or maybe some pickled Herring!

Don't forget Brabander! In addition to his assistance in getting Westvleteren into the hands of desiring BAs, he is a great host! During a visit last week, he picked me up at the Tilburg train staion and first brought me to his home for a quick lunch (where I also met his daughters). We then went to the La Trappe abbey brewery, followed by a visit to a micro-brewery in Baarle-Hertog, plus a stop at a great, nearby bottle shop. It was a great day in that I met a fine gentleman and enjoyed a nice tour of the area!

    Prosit, Brabander!!

That group + brabander is one of the reasons I am sad to have left Europe. Awesome group, great people, really enjoyed all our communications and beer events... hoping I can make it to Borefts next year.

cheers to you all, great people there!

yeah, first time in 10years, it is a bit strange... but we are in Portland, so not a bad place to land at all:slight_smile: Everyone I have met here thus far has been awesome. We will definitely be over periodically though to see family.
