I shipped a 12 shipper to the Netherlands right after Christmas. It was picked up on the 29th of December. Everything was going fine and on January 4th it reached a transfer airport in the Netherlands. That is the last tracking for it. My trade partner has called PostNL and they say they don't have it. I called USPS and they opened a trace for it but they said they handed it off to PostNL. I have asked a few of my overseas trade partners and they haven't seen anything like this before. I am assuming the package is gone at this point but I was wondering if anyone else has had something like this happen before and what was the result? Thank you!
Ive had packages sitting in (Belgian) customs for 3 weeks, you might want to try contacting them. If it isn't there, its probably gone.
My trader called the number listed here: http://www.belastingdienst.nl/wps/wcm/connect/bldcontenten/belastingdienst/customs/ and was basically told they don't have a stock of boxes and only handle paperwork. I am not sure where the boxes are kept and who else to call. If anyone has any ideas that would be awesome.
You better use DHL. No hassle at all. 3-8 days delivery from the usa. I use DHL4you for worldwide shipping and sometimes it is of the radar for days but it always arrived. But that doesn't help you now.
I've had international boxes fall off the radar on both sides of the pond. Not saying your box is in good hands, but I generally don't get really worried until a month or so has passed.
I am really suprised, I send many packages to the Netherlands USPS then PostNL and have never had an issue, delay or otherwise. This sounds like the package got removed from the system during the handoff(beer thievery). Good luck, but I don't have a warm & fuzzy feeling for you.
Well, I know everyone couldn't wait to hear the end of the story. Came back into the tracking system on the 27th and got delivered today. Customs requested extra money which I assume was part of the hold up. 40ish euros. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
I just received 14 bottles in one trade and it didn't get flagged. Last trade was about 8 and it did get flagged.
Did a trade of 12 bottles in 3 boxes of 4. But that was because shipping was cheaper that way. All bottles have arrived safely, no customs also. All my bottles to the states have arrived also ok.
Yeah, it really depends. It's mostly luck and also about what's written on the customs form. In my experience size of the box doesn't really matter much.
