Anyone have any good info about this area? I'll be there for three weeks for work... hoping to find something decent....
OL' REPUBLIC!!!!!!!! ROOOOOLZ! http://www.olrepublicbrewery.com/Home.html Also, there is a good craft spot across the street from them in Nevada City, Lefty's, and Matteo's, which is an excellent restaurant/beer spot. Grass Valley has 151, Tofanelli's and Smiley Guys.
A bit of a drive, but auburn alehouse makes some decent beers. I'm a big fan of their zz hops, not always available though.
If your coming all the way from Alaska you might want to consider some of these trips: 1hr drive to Truckee (Fifty Fifty) - may want to call and see whats on tap though 1hr 20 min drive to Chico - can't go wrong with Sierra Nevada - take the tour, eat at the resutant 1hr drive to Sacramento and environs - many choices there (also Final Gravity in Roseville) I second both Ol' Republic and Auburn alehouse too.
yeah... i'll think i'll be pretty stuck in the nevada city/grass valley area for the time i'm there, as i'm geting picked up in sacto and won't have a car. i will be heading to the bay area at the end of the trip however...
Auburn Alehouse isn't that far away and my favorite spot in that area. You could also check out Loomis Basin Brewing which is close to Auburn too.
