Just finished my 3rd beer in the new BeerMKR and I must say I'm really enjoying the automation and the final product. It does have a few shortcomings , but for a totally new type of product I'd say the guys at BeerMKR have got something great here. The beertap is the weak link with this machine, and hopefully they'll update the design in a new release. I spend about 20min, cleaning and putting a brew together, after the mash phase I add yeast and hops, if there is a dry hop addition, then you'll add dry hops later. When it finishes you put it the beetap and drink. I still brew 2.5 gal BIAB batches, but I'm really enjoying playing with new styles and flavors.

What are the tap issues you're running into?

When closing the tap, the space between the connections and the walls are tight, and some of us are experiencing crimped lines, also the connections from the lines to the bag itself are a bit problematic, the seals are leaking if the connection is not made correctly. I've made adjustments to my routine to make the tap work for now, I may start transferring the beer to another serving device later.

Appreciate it, I admit I'm interested but I wanna wait on a second generation.

    How's the hop selection?

Cool, don't blame you. The tap has got to improve in the 2nd go round for real success imho. The machine works great otherwise, software is reliable and advancing and the diy part of it is coming along nicely. The steam hop selection is decent, but I'm not a 100% sold on them. I did their Redwood ipa kit with them and it had a very harsh hop bite that took a week in the tap to mellow out. I just did a PTE clone and used all regular hops, and made a hop tea for the bittering charge and used that tea as part of my starting mash water. Tasted it today before putting in the tap and it was great, hop bitterness was pleasant and not harsh at all.

I'm gonna keep my eye on this. Bottling & hoppy beers are natural enemies and I don't have the means for kegging. Plus walking away is very appealing.

    Appreciate your info!

As info, BEERMKR will be airing on Shark Tank Friday, May 7.
Disclaimer, I don't own a BEERMKR and have no vested interest in it.
