Just read this article: http://www.nola.com/drink/index.ssf/2013/08/abita_announces_new_beers_and.html I have to admit I'm pretty excited for this and glad to see Abita doing more experimental stuff. The Milk Stout and Black IPA both sound intriguing, let's hope they hold up!
Definitely cool news. They did a Black IPA a couple years ago, and was quite good. The macchiato milk stout and oatmeal stout sound good too. I actually enjoyed the Spring IPA, so will be interesting to try the Grapefruit IPA too. Aside from Triple Haze, looks like a solid Select line up. But with Abita, I'll believe it when I taste it lol
Yep, i read this as well. If their Black IPA can be comparable to Saint Arnold's ICON Blue, I will be happy. I kinda dig the cascade styles.
I'm excited about this too. I always liked Abita's line-up, but I've been hoping that they would start doing more "experimental" styles to stay interesting.
Thanks for sharing that article! Glad to see Abita is expanding into the bolder brews finally. Excited about the Macchiato Espresso Milk Stout, Hopgator and the Imperator. Can't wait to get my hands on these.
I don't drink much Abita anymore, but I wish they would make that barley wine they made at the end of 2011 again.
Never had that one unfortunately... I didn't even know that went into that realm of brewing. I dont drink much Abita anymore, so I've been really happy to see that they are stepping up their game here in this past year.
To follow up on this thread, Andygator is officially out in 6-packs. Grabbed one for $8.99 plus tax at Rouse's, figured it was worth a try!
