I think this local St. Louis brewery is no stranger to controversy. They have made some edgy labels before, but I suspect this time they have gone a bit over the line to try to grab some attention. I've had 3 of their beers and have yet to be really impressed. I suspect this approach is what they really have to bank on.

Their Submission Ale label reads as:

Yeah I'm not a fan of that at all. It crosses my line.

I'd be offended only if that weren't the exact response they were hoping for. As it is, it's just banally provocative and dumb.

I saw their other labels and I think it is the pig in the burka that just goes further than the others. I consider myself pretty conservative and don't get too caught up in being PC (and I shake my head at the vast majority of this stuff I hear on the news) but at some point...

I would think he would not be numb to this beer label. He would likely consider it out of control.

LOL @ being offended by a beer label. I think there are far more important things to worry about. But that's just me.

How did this so quickly evolve from "in poor taste" to offended? There is a huge difference between thinking something is in poor taste and being offended. Case in point, I think this is in poor taste but I'm not offended. I also thought the cap that is my current avatar was somewhat in poor taste, but in a funny way (because I'm a child). Neither offends me.

    I chuckled, but I'm a horrible person.

People get too offended by this sort of stuff. If the guy's a tool who makes bad beer, this is probably a desperate stab at attention, which appears to be working (at least a little).
