I never see any talk of New Anthem around here. I like their hops but don't by them that often. My bottle shop recently got in bunch of 500ml bottles of stouts for ~$20 a piece. Has anyone has a New Anthem Stout? The reason you don't hear much about New Anthem around here is that the active BA community in North Carolina is small and doesn't create many threads, let alone rate beers. (Contrast us with the BA crowd in Richmond, by comparison.) The Untappd/BA ratio in North Carolina is very high so I often have to rely on Untappd if I am unsure about whether to buy a recently produced beer from a North Carolina brewery. I trust BA reviews more than I do Untappd but some data is better than almost none. Having said that, while I am unfamilar with the particular beers you are asking about, I think New Anthem is in the top echelon of North Carolina breweries and is deserving of a place in the national discussion.
Very good information. I have had many NA ipas and dipas. I rate them very highly in that category . I have not had other styles that I recall, but that is do to availability. I would trust that those beers are well done but like you, not sure about the $20, but it's the Holidays and you deserve it!
I have not had either of those specific stouts you mentioned but I have had the chance to review a few of their stouts (and I posted my reviews here on BA). I have enjoyed the bigger ones I have tried and thought they were quite solid. Though the ones I had were mostly on draft so cost was not as high.
