Did not see any posts when I searched so I thought I would toss this out there. One World opened up on the top of the South Slope, right basically in the heart of Asheville across from the BBT building (tallest in Asheville), in an alley way next to Salsa's. Haven't been yet, will let folks know more when I get a chance to pop in. Open Wed - Sun, 4pm til Midnight.

It is bigger news now when a week goes by that a brewery doesn't open in Asheville.

I stopped in briefly last week on Thursday night. Cool space. I only tried 2 beers so far, but both were solid. I'll be going back to try more for sure.

Can you get there without going through Undercooked and Overpriced Burger?

Lol, yeah there is a separate entrance around the side, and then down stairs. it has a very secretive sort of feel, which I think adds to it's charm.

Good to know, won't be stopping in there for a burger... Haven't yet so I suppose wasn't going to go out of my way anyway, besides Wicked Weed has a decent Bison Burger, why go elsewhere downtown?

One World is on my short list for this week, can't wait to stop in and give it a go, will report here per usual.

Too crowded, surly staff, and a pretentious clientele? [present company not implicated of course]

I never find Wicked Weed crowded. I normally go on a weekday night around 5-6, and never have a problem getting a table.

This. I know I've seen it crowded before when walking by, but its never been crowded when I was there (maybe that says something about me?). Never waited more than a couple minutes to get a beer.

Not saying it doesn't get crowded, I know it does. Just saying that people make it sound like its crowded constantly, when I think its just the most popular hours of the week that its actually crowded.

Wanted to post a quick review of One World Brewery in Asheville. One World is an interesting Bar/Brewery in a cool, out of the way location, tucked into a basement of a building with a side entrance. My take is, One World is the polar opposite of Twin Leaf Brewing. Where Twin Leaf likes to take folks on a journey deep into a style of beer, One World would rather have folks enjoy all styles of beer.

I based this on trying samples of all of the styles they offered, even their IPA (just a taste, but more on that later), all were extremely drinkable, not really all that note worthy with the possible exception of their ESB. The ESB had a nice caramel finish to go along with a bit of hoppy bitterness, which wasn't over powering but added some nice depth. Their stouts were very drinkable with the Imperial Stout offering well crafted but ordinary Stout. The unique Coconut Stout, stood out a bit from the Imperial, but that might have been its unique flavor. The Saison of Love had a unique coriander finish with a higher ABV, 7.8%, yet very mild, very drinkable (broken record time). I absolutely hated the IPA, which probably means its outstanding as I generally hate all IPA's. I will let IPA fans talk about this beer.

The Beers were all well crafted, didn't hit on a single miss or drain pour. Not at the top of my heap of breweries in Asheville, but not at the bottom either. You could literally stop in with friends on not worry about explaining all the beers or worry that someone won't like something. Worthy of the uniqueness that is Asheville, a worthy Brewery and the location and vibe is unique.
