An old co-worker of mine is helping to put this new fest on in September, sounds like it should be great.

"We're looking for each brewery to bring one of their regular seasonal beers and a specialty beer like a collaboration or cask-conditioned or barrel-aged beer, something you could only get at this fest," Watts said. "It's going to be a real craft beer lovers' fest."

Still no info on what the $55 includes?

The ticket price covers entry into the event, 3 oz pours of about 40 beers from some of the midwest's best craft breweries including rare special beers, a commemorative tasting glass, and a band and some other fun stuff.
VIP ($55) tickets get you into the fest one hour early compared to the GA ($45) tickets.

Referring to who will actually be there and what will be served. I would be all about this but not shelling out $45/55 for a non existent list of brewers and beers.

Sorry, I thought you were asking what the difference was between the tickets. They announced a few of the breweries so far on twitter but I'm waiting for the complete list as well before I get a ticket.

Why are the selling tickets 5 months before the event? Seems a bit premature.

Anyone else think it's not the best location ? I would be worried about all the gang activity near or around that area

That area is completely fine. There are any number of reasons to skip this fest -- the location is not one of them.

There's a pay lot just on the other side of the square (well, circle, but whatever) and lots of street parking, too (some of it's probably free/non-permit). It's also steps from the Blue line.

i'm skipping it because pere ubu is playing at the bottle the same day and i'd rather not be completely wasted for that. also, i dunno if i want to drop money on a brand new fest with no reputation. i can wait for next year.

    lol

Just up the street from me... pretty excited about this actually! Have never been to Logan Auditorium for a show, but this would be great for a first time visit.

    you're cute.

Two Bros and Wild Onion aren't going to get me to pay $45. They need to do a little better. The auditorium is a nice venue. Gets hot in the summer though. Hopefully OK in Sept.

The actual square area in Logan Square is probably safer than the Mag Mile during warm weather at this point.
