Interesting feedback Tyler. The common feedback on 1.0 was too creamy/sweet lol.

I loved 1.0. Drank a whole case. For me, if it is gonna be a lactose IPA, go all in.

I like my west coast and pnw IPAs dry.

If its gonna be a juice bomb, I like it to be sweeter and more smoothie like I guess I'd say. I feel the sweetness brings that juicy flavor out more.

@rscot231 Any chance I’ll see 3.0 in Castle Rock? Or maybe Littleton, lone tree etc. I’m really excited to try 3.0 because it sounds like I personally would enjoy the recipe tweak but maybe my palate is in the minority with this one.

It’s possible. We don’t have a ton of choice over what accounts it gets sent to. It’s kind of a free for allnin terms of who orders what from the distributor.

Gotcha, thanks for the response. I’ll keep my eyes peeled. Whats your personal favorite out of the 3 iterations?

Have not had batch 3 yet, but cracked my last batch 1, and its pretty much perfect to me. I guess what I'm saying is I agree with @tylerstubs haha

Batches 1 and 3 were LA3. Batch 2 was Conan.

1 and 3 are close for me. I want to see how 3 does in another couple of weeks before I give a final answer.

Thanks for being so open about things. I did a homebrew split batch with la3 and Chico as a kind of experiment, it's awesome to see commercial breweries doing the same thing to dial in their recipes.

I'm a huge LA3 fan, so I'll be drinking a lot of 3.0! Keep up the good work! Cheers!

Last night myself and another tried IJH 3.0. We both agreed that B1 was better than B3. For me, my rankings were: 1 > 3 > 2 and for him 1 > 2 > 3. Although it did taste a bit "green", might be better with 1 more week in the fridge. B1 held up really well even with 5-6 weeks in the fridge.

Honestly would be happy with just B1, I'm not sure what you could do to make it better. Maybe experiment with SLIGHTLY raising the fermentation temps to make that peachy flavor pop just a little more?

My favorite is 3.0. 1.0 got better with some age, but I felt the lactose was too heavy. 3.0 is great right out the gate. The lactose still adds a little sweetness without being overpowering. I only had 2.0 once on tap, and after a holidayfan, so I don’t think I can fairly compare it to the others. My recollection is that it was my least favorite.

On a separate note, holidayfan and qdh are both fantastic.

I haven't had the pleasure of tasting 1.0-2.0 but happened upon the last sixer of 3.0 and can say that I really enjoyed it! Maybe one of my fav odd13 beers outside of superfan.... I know it costs money but I hope larger batches will allow for cheaper six packs, 17.50 was a little steep. Happy to fork over the money - just glad the gf wasn't there to see how much it was!

I bet folks would more freely purchase a 12 dollar 4 pack.

Tyler, as you likely know, that’s exactly the price point we used to target. Our distributor strongly encouraged us to keep the same price per ounce but go with six packs. It seems to be going ok so far. A few people have definitely commented on the change, but we are going to see how it goes.

I too would prefer the $12 4-packs. I wonder what the distributor's reasoning is? Who is this change best for? The brewery, the customers, or the distributor? It seems that a $18 6-pack can be a hard sell for some people.

But who only drinks 4 IPA's in a sitting? J/K. I too paid the $17 for a 6-pack and while I thought it was steep it was ok. I prefer it to the 4-pack of 16oz. beers.

I would agree with the other feedback in this thread. 1.0 > 3.0 > 2.0 The second version was tad too dry and didn't exhibit the same citrus burst the 1.0 & 3.0 did.

Wife and I are heading up to Lafayette next weekend for a little staycation, so a visit to Odd13 is on the books. Looks like there is also a can release next Saturday. How busy should I expect the taproom to be? Will it be hard to find a seat? Will the beers being released in cans also be on tap?
