It seems like there have been lots of breweries showing up for the first time in NYC and Westchester lately. Bell's obviously got lots of attention. I could be wrong about whether or not they are new here, but Off Color, Jack's Abby, and Central Waters have started appearing (and probably others I'm forgetting). Now we can add Great Lakes to the list. We are on a roll.

Two Roads was a nice welcome, and one that I knew nothing about, nor the brewer, much to my delite when I first nippled up to their Workmans Comp Saison. Best traditionalish saison I have had in a good time

Wonder if its connected in any way with this recent change in state law:

or with any of the other changes in State law that have taken place in the last year or so.

Haven't seen NEBCO in NYC. Can I ask where you have seen it? If I walked by Ghandi Bot and missed it, i am obviously losing my touch.

At this point they are distributed by Remarkable Beverages, whose territory is more 'upstate' although I have been pleasantly surprised to see some NEBCO beers (no Gandhi Bot, unfortunately) in Rockland County. They might not get that much closer until there is a NYC distributor.

Yeah, Hag and Beast are in Rockland and Westchester. OP stated NYC and westchester. No Gandhi yet, but I've been told by beer managers that it is coming.

Correct. No Gandhi yet, but Port Chester and DeCicco Ardsley claim it will be soon.

cavedave, I'm curious. Is the love generally aimed at the barrel aged stuff, or does it also flow to items like their 6 pack porter?

Not at all, though their two I've tried are the BA Stout and Barleywine, which I am so glad not to have to rely on trade partners (hopefully) to enjoy. Kosmyk Charlies Y2K ale is a seasonal, just delicious, both their coffee beers are amazing, and all the hoppy stuff I have tried from them have been quite good. Looking forward to being able to try an even greater diversity.

Resurrecting this thread because this trend is showing no signs of slowing down. Feels like there's something added to this market once every two weeks. Saw a store putting Sweetwater on the shelf yesterday. Grey Sail, Pipeworks, and Kent Falls are three recent additions off the top of my head. There are plenty more. Hill Farmstead doesn’t technically count, but the shift in keg numbers makes it feel like it absolutely belongs on the list too.

Funnily enough, I just grabbed a sixer of Central Waters Octoberfest, and turns out the barrel aged offerings are easily purchased.
