Good morning all lovers of hoops and hops! Weather here in Central OH is sunny and warmer-ish. Still wondering if my hops are going to start growing early due to the mild winter and early spring. Grabbed my first sixer of Nugget Nectar last night as well as the Black IPA from Heavy Seas. That will probably be my new offering this sunny day. Whatever is new in your world of beer this is the place and today is the day to share it! Please post your musings, witty banter, and overall impression of a new beer that you sampled today. Clickable reviews are preferred and even pictures (provided you can figure out this new fangled and wonderful looking forum!) if you have them. If not, a good description would be dandy. Save the chore lists and thoughts about what you MAY have for another thread. Thanks for keeping NBS fresh, informative, and fun. Have a great day and some great beer! Peace, love, and malty-ness, Matt
!!!New American Wild Ale*** G'day Matt and to the rest of the NBS-ites! It looks like we will be hitting the 60 degree F mark today; first time for that this year and I'm all for it. My new beer for today, Lolita from Goose Island, and here is my review and a pic: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1549/53747/?ba=Bitterbill A very nice brew from the gang at GI.
Flanders Red Ale Looks like winter is over in the upper midwest. Been a beautiful, warm, sunny weekend. My beer for NBS is a wonderful brew that fits in with the bright weather. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/223/50772/?ba=morimech
English Stout Innis & Gunn Oak Aged Stout (in Irish Whiskey barrels) http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/10272/77595/?ba=malty I thought I wasn't going to dig this beer, and I'm glad I was wrong. The whiskey notes really sang to me. Other than that, an above avg. stout I guess.
American Amber Ale I was disappointed in this brew, a nice brew, but compared to the last AAA I had, it's a let down. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/413/53266/?ba=Wasatch Cheers!
Sour apples kicked arse in the New Glarus Apple Ale but..in a Saison? Yeah, I'd like to know what's what too.
New American Black Ale Sunday Heavy Seas Black Cannon...kind of an identity crisis between a Robust Porter and an American IPA but no matter what I call it delicious!!! Happy NBS everyone!!!! http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/898/65545/?ba=mattcrill
New American Amber/Red Lager Sunday Colorado Native - left by a friend at a recent tasting and he said, "Go ahead and enjoy it!" As I sit here, it compliments the nice weather we are experiencing in MN... high 50s to low 60s forecasted for the entire week! This lager brings a light caramel sweetness and grassy, slightly floral hops together. Didn't think I would go for it too much, but it's pretty good. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/17948/57348/?ba=psychotia
a beautiful early spring day in Minneapolis http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/16333/78937/?ba=gatornation
New Gueuze Sunday (week 369) Hello fellow NBS ers. Beautiful day capping a beautiful winter of autumn like weather. Some breezes and a temp in the upper 50's from the feel of it here on the ridge in Mid Hud Val NY. Wanted something bright and crisp for such a crispy day spent recycling, relaxing, and learning how to brew hefeweizens for a brew club brewday so popped the cork on this baby, yummmm. Lost an hour but gained a delicious new beer that is usually available (unlike some other gueuzes that shall remain nameless). http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/636/1710/?ba=cavedave
New Belgian pale Ale Sundae Greeting NBSers! This Sunday finds the sun playing hide n seek with temps in the 40s here in the Fourth Corner. I'm a bit slow today due to one of my favorite local bars reopening after a 9 month relocation. I consumed probably too many The Gospel IPAs from Skagit River at the Green Frogs grand reopening. 3 great musical acts and seeing a lot of familiar faces equaled a very fun night. Plus, I get to celebrate an early season victory by Tony Stewart. Get 'em Smoke! For my new beer today I'm having a beer from a brewery that's a bit over a year old. Other than tastes at festivals this the first beer I've had from this brewery over on the Olympic Peninsula: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/25053/66868 . A decent, but not special, beer. Happy Spring everyone and Cheers!
New American Black Ale Sunday Discord Black IPA from Pyramid. Not a bad brew, but more of a dry hopped porter in my opinion. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/403/62460 Every weather imaginable today. Sun, rain, snow, wind you name it. Spring! Happy Trails!
It was basically a saison with a hint of sour apple jolly rancher. I guess it was ok. Was hoping for a different taste.
New Dark Saison Sundae Another new brew from Elysian, Mongrel Dark Saison: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/700/79308
