**Even though last week was #373, I noticed the last Sunday in Feb. it was #366 and the following Sunday I mistyped #368. I skipped week #367. So today is OFFICIALLY week #373.

Good morning stormy saisons and rumbling rauchbiers,

Mid-MI is prepping for maybe a couple gentle storms this morning as thundering is crinkling to the southwest. Birds are still chirping through the open windows though. I bet the got their fill of fat earthwormy delight already. Lord knows I got my share of Short's hoppy delight Friday night.

A few buddys got together with a potluck of brews Friday, and I brought all Short's; ControversiALE, Freedom of '78 and Prolonged Enjoyment (all IPAs). The Freedom of '78 really stole the show, (even threw-in Sierra Nevada's Hoptimum, which was really too hot and clunky for my taste). It's lush tropical guava addition really complimented the grapfruity hop assault. ControversiALE (F.K.A. Hangin' Frank) is a malty yet mildly stinging IPA that never disappoints. I must admit, I really, really, really was stoked over the Prolonged Enjoyment (session) IPA (3.7% abv). As much as I wanted to like Founder's All Day IPA, Short's Prolonged Enjoyment's flavors really stuck around after the initial quaff, whereas All Day IPA's flavor profile just dropped-off a second after it hit the palate. We did visit a local pub later that night who's Dark Horse Crooked Tree IPA was fresh, firm and oh so fabulous also. The Crooked Tree paired nicely with the Red Wings equalizing the series with Nashville. Gotta love Michigan IPAs.

So, as I go back to my local retailer to buy more Freedom of '78 (it's actually a collaboration with Half Acre Brewing in Chicago - of which I drank copious amounts of their Daisy Cutter while in Chi-town over spring break), hopefully a lot of you will be sampling a new beer or two and letting us know all about them. Simply come back to this thread AFTER you've had your new beer and please give us some good commentary of your new beer's characteristics and overall experience. If you formally review your beer here, please also include the link to it's formal review. AND, if you'd like to post a pic of said new beer/s, that'd be fantastic. Please, no 'I'm gonna drink (blah, blah, blah) beer later today' posts. Check us out AFTER you had your new brew and THEN get back with us. Good day and good drinkin' (and GO WINGS!).

In the undying spirit of good beer,

    malty

I have been drinking row2/hill56 from Russian River, and it is awesome! I have never had a simcoe single hop pale before, but I like this better than than any other single hops I have had. Thanks Scott!
Finished the growler late last night, so it was technically still drank today.

A couple of new beers today which is going to be a marathon reviewing day. Hopefully I can knock a couple more out before I lose comprehention. The first beer was Odell's Footprint RegionAle. The best Odell beer I have had out of thier large bottles. Their last chance to redeem themselves in my eyes and palate.

The second beer of the day was a beer I purchased by mistake and did not realize it until I put it in the fridge. Not a style I enjoy, but a serviceable beer. Great River Roller Dam Red Ale.

Cloudy and warm day here on the ridge in Mid Hud Val NY. Not doing much but watching a preview of NBA playoffs, Knicks vs. Heat, and drinking another excellent NY product while watching. Really loving this one, so drinkable, so interesting and delicious. Hope all my fellow BA's are enjoying as fine a beer and as fine a team as am I. Cheers!

You aren't kidding, and I can't believe how drinkable it is. I drank this bottle, last sips now as I write, easily and admiringly, every sip a bright joy.

I left OH this morning which was around 60, and now im in Central NC back home where its like 85 and sunny. I want the cold from OH last week back!

I didnt grab something new, but I went for my old favorite in a brand new glass. I was gifted a Siberian Night glass, and couldnt wait to get back to pour Siberian Night into the glass. And let me tell you its drinking fantastic. I found way more chocolate in this bottle than the last few times.

Another APA here, although I think it is classified as a spiced beer.

Elysian Fallout, limited release, the 3rd in the series of the 12 Beers of the Apocalypse. This one is outstanding. Gonna grab a couple more before they vanish.

Pleasant here in the Columbia Basin. A mix of clouds and sun, with temps in the low 60's. Played nine holes of golf this afternoon in shorts and a t-shirt. Bring on summer!

    Happy Trails.

Having my first ever SN Ruthless Rye here while watching a surprisingly interesting Detroit vs. Chicago NBA game! The beer is just as enjoyable as the game. I was expecting a little more bitterness and big bad taste in this beer, especially with the name "Ruthless" in it, but it was actually just a smooth ride all the way through.

Greeting fellow NBSers! A beautiful spring day here in the Fourth Corner, featuring moderate temps and sunny skies. I met with a couple friends from Seattle yesterday and we hit a couple new beer spots in The 'Ham, Kulshan Brewing and Elizabeth Station, as well as the recently reopened Green Frog. At the Frog we met some mutual friends also up from Seattle and after a couple there, we all went to Boundary Bay. Friends #1 left and friends #2 hadn't yet been to Kulshan so 4 of went back. After a couple there, it was back to the Frog for music and more beer. needless to say, I've been moving a bit slowly today and as a bit of Hair of the Dog, I had this nice, new, 4%ABV brew: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/20680/77858 . Just the right beer for the situation. I hope all Tulsa area BAs are safe after the tornados yesterday. Cheers all!

Pipeworks Ninja vs. Unicorn for me. Great beer from Chi-town. Never posted in here before, but have enjoyed reading this column for some time now. Ninja vs. Unicorn was too fun not to type. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/28178/77708
