    Greetings quad quaffers!

Weather here in Central OH is sunny and looks to be warmer. Many signs that spring is in the air including Oberon, Columbus Summer Teeth, and Goose Island Summertime sightings in multiple venues. I still find a good RIS to be just as refreshing in warmer weather but I know the intended audience they are trying to serve.

Another sign of spring is that malty will be making less appearances due to his wedding schedule. DJ jazzy malt will be spinning tunes late into the morning so I'll be your summer tour guide. We usually get a "what happened to malty?" question about the middle of July but hopefully he'll be checking in now and again.

Now,to the business at hand: Grab a beer that's new (or one that you haven't formally reviewed) and tell us about it!! We want to hear what tasty new offerings this day will bring to you. Post a linked review or a very good description of what you've had today. Pictures are optional but always a fun add.

Please save the "what's in my fridge" or "what I might drink" posts for other threads.

Thanks for keeping NBS fresh, informative, and fun. Hope you have a great day!

    Peace, love, and malty-ness,

    Matt

it is an amazing day in Central NC today. low 70s, mostly cloudy with sun coming out later. Im going to go brew a hefe with some friends, and bringing along a growler of a local brewery's (Triangle Brewing Co in Durham, NC) Belgian Lambic.

But before I leave, i had a hankering for something new. I opened a bottle of One Oatmeal Stout Ale from Dark Horse. I really like it, and I think its my favorite Oatmeal Stout.

While the blue skies in West Michigan have me thinking "crisp, refreshing lawn mower beer," the ongoing rounds of Vicodin tell me "sit on the sidelines this week."

I'll live vicariously through your experiences, but hope to be back with a new MI brew next Sunday.

    Happy NBS to all...
Clear, sunny skies here on Long Island with temps in the upper 50's. I did some landscaping work and repaired the pool deck while it's cool and comfortable outside. I have to be at work extra early tomorrow so I'll be going to bed extra early which in turn has made me start enjoying a few beers extra early. I'm just sitting down to watch a little NHL action and I'm enjoying this beer...

    New American IPA Sundae

Greetings fellow NBSers! A cloudy morning is starting to break up and we might get some sun here in the Fourth Corner this afternoon. I poured for Anacortes Brewing yesterday at a local beerfest here in Bellingham. About 30 breweries had various offerings and my favorite was the Oatmeal Stout/bacon brownie from Boundary Bay. Beer-wise I liked the cask ESB with cherry Jolly Rancher from North Sound, as well as their cask ESB with pumpkin pie spice. Boundary Bay poured a tasty Ginger Peach Ale that I liked. Some other favorites were poured by Foggy Noggin and, of course, Anacortes, where we had the Broadsword Scotch and Tulip fest Brown. With over 1,100 GA tickets, and all VIP tickets sold out in advance, a great time was had by all and some money was raised for the Max Higbee Center, who provides recreational opportunities for developmentally disabled teens and adults.

My first new beer for today comes courtesy of BA DaftCaskBC, thanks IAN! A very nice IPA that's probably setting up a trade for, if your so inclined: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/2385/79399 . Happy NBS everyone, I might be back with another a bit later on, Cheers!

The owner of one of my locals recently had the opportunity to check out his first NASCAR race in person and wasn't sure he would go. I encouraged him to go, and watched the recent race at Ft. Worth from the Mayors box. He now has a whole new appreciation for the sport and says he'll no longer give me crap for watching the races at his bar. As a thank you he bought one of these nice little sours from Cascade: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/2391/76759 .

Just minding my own business, studying for finals, when all of a sudden...THIS. What is going on in my glass?! It's a coffee beer, but it it's an IPA, too. To Øl Sleep Over Coffee IIPA is INSANITY!

The coffee presence is definitely not like a stout, making it even more unique. It blends with the hops pretty well, actually. Cheers!

Drank two of these bad boys earlier today. And a Nugget Nectar. Still plan on opening the Stone Smoked Porter for dinner. <3

That looks awesome. A coffee flavored beer does not have to be a stout or porter as Furthermore Oscura proves.

The new seasonal from Odell and its a definite winner. As bummed as I am that Red is off the shelves (or will be once the stores sell out) this hitting the shelves does soften the blow. Really enjoying this APA, far more than their 5 Barrel. Once again Odell shows why they remain one of my favorite breweries.

Cloudy and rainy day here in South Florida. New beer for me today is Thomas Creek Red Falls Red Ale. I really enjoyed this brew. Clean light bodied ale with honey and caramel malts. Delicious!

Stone IRS. My first go at this brew.

Wow. Just...wow. Perfect mix of coffee and dark fruit and chocolate. God, that chocolate comes in at the end and just ties everything together so nicely. It's deeply and darkly roasted, but there's just this combination of slight creaminess and carbonation that makes it taste refreshing and crisp and just fantastic. I'm in love.
