Greetings explorers of all things new and beer related,

Weather here in Central OH is warm and already informally kicking off the summer season. Seen plenty of blondes (ales!), saisons, and witbiers on the shelves lately.

My hops are already up to my second story as this warm winter/spring has them heading for new heights. Should be a bountiful harvest and leave me with plenty o' hops for the late summer/fall.

I'm ready for an IPA now though!

Speaking of...please log into this thread and tell us about your new brew adventures today. This is the place to show off your new wares to a captive audience. Clickable links are preferred, pictures are a nice add, and at minimum a brief description. If you haven't had it today, we don't want to hear about it.

Thanks for keeping NBS fresh, informative, and fun.

    Have a great day everyone!

    Peace, love, and malty-ness,

    Matt

here i central illinois it is a near perfect day. temps in the mid eighties with a slight breeze and plenty of sunshine. just got back from an hour long walk with the dog and decided to grab a cup of coffee before heading out to do some yard work. i'm not gonna do a full review since this was in the back of the fridge with a best by date of three months ago. but i will tell you that it is a good porter, wish i hadnt forgotten about it. it pours a cola color with a creamy head quickly thins to a crescent moon shape. unfortunatly most of the coffee has faded but there is a nice milk chocolate flavor dominating now. a little thin on the body but still nice carbonation level to it. and almost no coffee bitterness left to it. oh well i have a couple more coffee stouts in the fridge for today, hopefully i didnt let them sit too long.

Hey guys! Finally able to post here legitimately again. After church and snack hour, I need some good food. So I decide to grab a brat and beer and the Bavarian Brathaus. Eggs, hashbrowns, and a garlic bratwurst was a fantastic idea. Now Id had most of their taps and bottles before, but Id intentionally avoided one: Franziskaner Dunkelweisse. I was not a fan of the Hefeweizen, but I gotta give it a shot. Both the Hefe and Dunkel were a bit weak, and lacked that punch of yeast esters up front. The Dunkel was nice a smooth, complex, and drinkable. Not a bad beer by any means, but doesnt compare to Weihenstephan at all. I would buy it again if it were amongst subpar beers.

Solstice d'hiver, dieu du ciel. Have another one i'll crack in a year. Malt up front, with a deep (but not strong) bitterness making itself present directly afterwards. Ends with note that reminds me of my first homebrew (pale ale, dry yeast). Uh oh...

Thankfully the complexity grows as it warms. Paired with some chèvre at this point, and it worked. To be honest, it's most prevalent note towards the end reminded me of a turbinado simple syrup I make for cocktails. B overall.

A SN Summerfest to lighten up, then a derniere volonte also from DDC. Paulaner salvator right now. Sante

Been wanting to try this ever since FW came to Colorado, but everytime I went to the store for it I bought something else. Glad I finally got myself to commit, as this is a very nice brew. Highly enjoyable and it definitely lived up to my expectations.

    Happy NBS to all...

Beautiful day here on Long Island, sunny, mid 70's. I did my monthly Sunday OT at work and after work I picked up some flowers to fill in some empty spots in my front yard. I just finished planting them and sat down with this beer...

Dark Depths from Sam Adams. A pretty decent brew, although it's a style I'm not real familiar with.

Cloudy and seasonal here in Eastern Washington. Temps in the low 70's. I got the last of the vegetable garden planted today.

    Here comes summer.

    Happy Trails!

    New Radler

Blue skies and temps topping out in the low 90s in West Michigan. Today's highlights included getting the sprinkler system running and chilling while watching my kids play in the yard. If there is a day meant for a light, refreshing radler, this is it.

Gonna pop open this stone imperial black ipa. Looks pretty good. Let ya know how it goes.

    Cheers!

    [Edit]

So not a bad beer at all. Very dark, mostly tastes of hops and chocolate and a bit boozy. . Also got a bit of thickness to it. Another solid offering from stone.
