Sorry new beer brethren, this will be short today. Lots of family and festivities.

Of course, new beer is tee'd up and ready to go.

What say you on this fine Memorial Weekend?

    Greetings NBS people,

Hot, hot, hot in SCMN. Figured I'd go lager with what used to be called an am. bock, but now is just a bock.

I suppose a good enough beer for the start of summer. Think I'll partake of something better later today.

Best to all and a salute and quiet moment for our fallen.

Have some new beers waiting for me today that I've been dying to try: Cantillon Kriek and Chocolate Rain (as a side by side with Black Tuesday). I'll report back later!

    Happy holiday everyone and cheers.

Wow! First time I've seen Tenaya Creek distributed in Central OH and I'm very impressed. One of the best Imperial Stouts and best beers that I've had in a long time. Perfect for the long holiday weekend.

    Cheers and Happy NBS everyone!

This is my second time around with this brew, the first was definitely not as fresh as this one. This one was definitely the real deal, very fresh and fucking AWESOME! This one definitely was with the hype on this brew, one of the best DIPAs I've had to date. Thanks goes out to dsgolovin for hooking me up with this brew as an extra, way to go David!

After a SN Southern Hemi (excellent), I decided to blind taste test a Sam Adams Lat 48 IPA that was fresh vs 1 year old (found it in the back of the basement shelf). Had my daughter pour the bottles. Easy to identify the difference. The one year old one wasn't bad but tasted more like an English beer with the malt presence.

Greetings NBS'ers. A beautiful sunny day, yet cloudy still in the gray haze of recovering from our hb club Brewbecue y'day. What a wonderful day of enjoying great food, great company, and of course great beer. This bottle came home with me after no one chose it from the cooler. Not bad, but...
    Cheers All!

This one actually surprised me! Great zest, grass, and citrus flavors. A great 94 degree grilling beer....[IMG]

Just had the Heady Topper (fresh can), no fucking comparison to the PtE. PtE wins hands down in my humble opinion. A HUGE difference in taste. Don't get me wrong the Heady is very tasty, but compared to the PtE no way. I've had MANY DIPAs before (growler and fresh bottles) the PtE is what a DIPA is all about, the Heady on it's own taste very nice, but once you taste them side by side there is no comparision, IMHO. Sorry I cannot go with the hype about Heady, and I have 3 cans left, LOL

Caldera IPA, and I'll save the details for another day. On a 90 degree day in East TN, it has ( and continues to be) perfect.

Happy NBS and Memorial Day Weekend to all...

Humidity has returned to Long Island and although it's only in the low 80's it feels a lot warmer. After going to the Jones Beach Air Show yesterday we just took it easy today at home. Our youngest son is going back up to Binghamton tomorrow morning for a summer session class so my wife was doing his laundry while I helped him pack up his stuff. We'll be doing a BBQ tomorrow so while my wife is making baked ziti I'm sipping on this fine tasting beer from South Carolina...
