Greetings hazy, hot, and humid hop heads! I hope this message finds you safe and sound and ready for another enjoyable New Beer Sunday! Weather in Central Ohio has been off the hiz-zook here this week. Enjoyed some Troegs Perpetual IPA on Friday night while hanging on for dear life as 85 mph+ winds whipped through our area. We were lucky to have power restored within a few hours but many weren't so lucky. Seems like weather has been a little bucknuts crazy over the entire US so I hope wherever you are you are safe, cool, and sound.

Whether you have power or not please TRY a new beer and TELL us about it! This is the location to do it. Please provide your linked review or a detailed description of what hit your belly today. Pics are nice but not necessary. Thanks for keeping NBS fresh, informative, and fun.

Have a great day and a fabulous NBS!

    Peace, love, and malty-ness,

    Matt

New Hefeweizen, Dubbel, and American Black Ale Sunday

    good afternoon!

Forget the weather, its European Championship final day, and Im all Italian (as I always have been). It is hot as hell outside (100+), and Im on a tear of new beers lately. Earlier I had this (it was on ok Hefe, not enough yeast flavors until way late. Slightly acidic very late) http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/7753/56681/?ba=VncentLIFE

Now Im on to another. This is just wow. If it wasnt for Westy 8, this would the best Dubbel ever.

I just finished posting all of my reviews from yesterday's New England Brewfest in Lincoln, N.H. Of the ones I tried my favorite was Wachusett Country Pale Ale.

Drove out to Hill Farmstead Brewery yesterday.

Went to get some of the newly released Double Citra. Surprisingly, wasn't really what I wanted at the time, so I got a growler of Nor instead. Never tried it before, I'm on my second day. Not as carbonated, but imo just as delicious. That place is the holy grail for me.

Shakespeare Oatmeal Stout from Rogue; I was really looking forward to this one, but it ended up being disappointing and unbalanced.

    New Saison Sunday (week 384)

Greetings NBS 'ers, what a beautiful day to brew a saison, which we did, and to taste a saison as well, which also we did, along with many more, This one the only new one though, and what a treat it was, wish I had another right now. Hope you have a delicious American beer in your glass. Cheers!

Had a 21st Amendment Saison. Figured that since I like their other beers I'd enjoy this one despite not knowing much about saisons, but I think I need to try other saisons that would be a better introduction to the style.

Greetings, NBSers! Beer and pretzels on me, high-5s all around!

This hot Sunday afternoon involves me boxing up some trades, listening to some music, and enjoying this new brew, which I received in trade not too long ago:

Got this chill tune on the platter, which is doing a fine job of cooling things off on this hot June afternoon:

Hope everyone else had a good weekend and will have a safe, productive, beer-laced week. Cheers!

    German Pilsener

    Happy NBS to all...

Hot and humid here on Long Island today. I did my monthly Sunday OT at work and then went food shopping with the wife. She's preparing dinner and I'm sipping on this German Pilsener...

    Another "no review" Sunday

    MBC Nut Brown Ale

Making some room in the fridge by finishing off some "new to me" beer from Michigan Brewing Company. As they recently shut down, there's no formal review (just personal notes to justify my "hads" score of 3.75).

It's an easy drinker. Nutty and a little sweet. Kind of like beer nuts in liquid form. Given the opportunity, this would be part of my fall rotation. There aren't a ton of MI brown ales, and this one kind of hit the spot.

    Here's what others think....

Hop Juice from Left Coast. A decent DIPA, drinkable, not the face puckering hop bomb some of these things can be.

Pleasant here in the great northwest. None of the scorching temperatures or horrendous thunder storms of the eastern part of the US. Of course we are known for these pesky volcanoes that blow ever 5000 years or so. ;-)

    Happy (and safe) Trails!
