Greetings pontificates of pilsners, pales, and porters! I hope this message finds you enjoying another beautiful Sunday full of all the anticipation that new beer brings.

Just wrapping up some vacation this week and putting the finishing touches on my latest class. I will be enjoying something new today but I probably won't be able to log back in and share. I'll save my exploits for future editions of NBS.

But we need you today! Please drink a new beer, De-construct it, and tell us about it! Please paste your linked review, a GOOD description, and a pic if you happen to have one.

Thanks for keeping NBS fresh, informative, and fun.

    Have a great day!

    Peace, love, and malty-ness,

    Matt

Good news, everybody, I'm back! I have decided to make today New CANned Beer Sunday in order to jumpstart the long-dormant CANQuest (TM) and in the spirit of inclusion, I would like to invite others to begin or CANtinue their own CANQuest (TM).
For those that may be new to this madness, The CANQuest (TM) was begun by yours truly in response to NickD717 (TickD717/NicktheTick) one evening during LNBA when he and some of his compadres were clogging the forum with discussions of wales/whales/wails. I took umbrage at this and when I called him out on it, he challenged me to come up with something that anyone and everyone could trade, review and discuss. It took me several days of cogitation, but it dawned on me that everybody CAN lay hands on CANned beer, thus beginning The CANQuest (TM). I naively thought that if I could find and review ~ 100 different CANs that I would really be successful. I failed to think of overseas CANs and I was well in front of the Craft CAN Revolution and now I am approaching # 700.

Grab a CAN (or two) and get started on your own CANQuest (TM) today! See you later tonight to assess the damage.

Risking a temporary threadjack, with the increasing availability of canned beers, do you think there will be a day when the more difficult task is finding bottled beer?

Let's do be careful. Realistically, there is still a stigma associated with CANs that may be difficult to overcome. That is why I am CANstantly exhorting others to try a CANned beer, especially a Craft CAN - you should not put down something that you have not tried for yourself.

    Very odd Koelsch Sunday

Beautiful weather in West Michigan. Blue skies, light breeze, moderate temps considering the hot dry weather to which we've grown accustomed. Perfect for cheering on my wife in the local 5k this morning.

Lunch time brought an interesting entry from Dark Horse. I suppose this unexpected brew is their interpretation of a Polish Koelsch?

    New APA Sunday

Greetings NSBer's from the northern part of central MN, commonly called the lake country. Gorgeous, but kinda' cool with a chilling northwest breeze cutting across the lake. However, in the sun, of which there is plenty, enough warmth can be had to warm the bones and soul and drive the desire to dip into the more than adequately temperatured water.

A good summer day calls for a good summer style and today's entry to NBS is from Kansas, comes in a can nicely decorated in the style of an old video game and is named to reflect that. Very English in it's presentation and quite enjoyable - indeed.

Greetings fellow NBSers! A very warm (dare I say hot?) weekend here in the Fourth Corner. Not hot by the standards of much of the rest of the country, but certainly hot enough for a bunch of the locals to whine about it. I just remind them that it rains 467 days a year here, and to enjoy the bright, warm, loveliness when we can.

Thanks to a recent trade with brooklynbrews I've got some new beers to hit. So far I've liked them a lot, but this one was average: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/10607/77299 . I've got a trade with WoodyChandler in the works, I look forward to trying more cans of tasty beer. Cheers all!

My friend is on the local roller derby squad and they did a road trip this weekend, so I'm baby sitting a 130 lb mix of 3 types of mastiff and rottweiler. We're chillaxin' on the deck of a local bar before I go to work, and I enjoyed this brew while checking in with NBS: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/18081/79496 . A solidly decent brew from a regional favorite.

New Smoked Porter Sunday (week 389)

Greetings NBS'ers. Had plans for the Fair, New Paltz' 125th, movies, all foiled by heavy rains, and in the case of the movies, a widespread power outage in Newburgh. This tasty beer is now keeping me happy as the sun looks to disappear again shortly. Hope you have a delicious American Beer in your hand right now. Cheers!

93 degrees and sunny in the city where Cuba Gooding was youtubed while s%#&housed in a bar that is listed in the BA directory. After a late breakfast/early lunch, I popped open a bomber of a Black Imperial IPA from Paradise Creek Brewing, brewed about 75 miles south of where I am typing:

Very tasty. It hovers somewhere between IIPA and Imperial Stout. Very roasty and coffeeish, yet lots of hops as well.

New Belgian Strong Pale Ale Sunday

A stormy (got rained on in the Target parking lot) fairly lazy Sunday in Central PA lead me to the decision to try the Dogfish Head Faithfull Ale that I've been sitting for a bit... Better than most reviews would lead one to believe, but still a bit sub par for the style... Of course I was enjoying to the appropriate Pearl Jam soundtrack while prepping dinner (Pork chops seasoning with fresh parsley, garlic, and oregeno topped with fresh garden tomatoes and mozzarella cheese with a side of sauted onion / mushroom / green pepper / squash / zucchini)... This after a a home brewed hefeweizen... Cheers...

I grill all of my CANs in the hopes that the ones from Minhas and City especially will improve. That business with the chicken was an afterthought and it only works if the CANs explode in the cavity of the bird.:stuck_out_tongue:
