First time trying New Holland Ichabod Pumpkin. Pumpkins fall into two categories, manly and girly. This one was the former. Solid ale foundation was key; pumpkin tasted real and fresh, nice balance between fruit, spice and foundation. I would recommend it, and NH has a nice price point for what you get.

I've had a few new ones! Started with a weihenstephaner Pilsner, then onto a red hoptober. Now having Avery's The Kaiser.

    What a fantastic Oktoberfestbier!

As posted in another thread... first time with pliny. almost three months old and getting a big old meh from me. (clearly it must fall off hard with age, but there was nothing I could do about that as I just got it and live in a state where its not distributed) Bland, slight citrus, bitter. Wheres my heady topper?

Checking in a little late with a questionable beer. But hey, you have to try something once.

    Shock Top Wheat IPA.

Yep it is as bad as it sounds. A crossover beer perhaps, but neither a good wheat ale or an IPA.

Nice weekend here in Ritzvillle. Local fair, parade, rodeo. Lots to do and fine weather to do it under.

    Happy Labor Day and

    Happy Trails!

I wanted to try Southern Tier's Harvest Ale last Fall but I missed out on it. I did not hesitate to purchase it at first sight last weekend and I gave it my first try earlier today. I don't have a lot of experience with ESBs and this is the first one I've had in about 8 months.

I was very surprised how hoppy this beer was, piney and citrusy hops on the nose and the tongue. If I had been tasting this blindly I would have assumed I was drinking a pale ale or a hoppy red ale. This is a Fall seasonal but I could enjoy this one any time of year.
