Good morning Ravens of real ale and Lions of lager,

Weather here in Central OH is perfectly fall-like. I hope this message finds you doing well and prepared for another Sunday full of new brew exploration. I had the chance to sample Stone's 16th Anniversary yesterday. Definitely a hop punch-in-the-face but did not seem "Double/Imperial" to me. Still, I love most any IPA from Stone and was glad I had the chance to try it.

Same plan for all y'all today....try a new beer, review it, and tell us about it. Kindly post your detailed description, a linked review, your musings, etc so we can share in your virtual pint of new horizons. If you have a pic to share, great.

I hope your weather is like mine and I hope a tasty brand new ale or lager finds its way to your glass today.

Thanks for keeping NBS fresh, informative, and fun.

    Peace, love, and malty-ness,

    Matt

    ***New Hefewiezen Sunday!!!

Hello fellow New Beer Sunday faithful.

I can't drive 55 but that's the current temp in Casper. I'm looking forward to a nice long Autumn.

My new beer today, it may not be the only thanks to recent trades, is a delicious, not overly done with the spice and fruit, Hefeweizen I got from match1112:

My description doesn't give it true justice. I was very pleasing to my palate. Thanks again, Matt!

Going to turn out to be a pleasant day with maybe some good games on TV. Have a couple of beers up today. The first is a beer that just about everyone has access to, and one that is local. My review of Sierra Nevada Imperial Red Ale:

    Greetings NBSer's,

Sent from a truly lovely autumn day in SCMN. Apples, apples, apples was the theme today as I've gone through over 11lbs of the things prepping for pies to be made at a later date. I guess a truly autumn activity that is.

Beer today is staying in the midwest from Two Brothers in Ill. Unfortunately a tad past best by date - I blame myself and won't hold it against the beer or the brewers.

Well done session beer with soft grainy malts and well balanced hops and hints of oak. Perfect for an afternoon full of stuff to do.

    Best to all this week.

Hello all. Quiet Sunday at the shop. My plan is to work my way through the rest of the recent Sierra Nevada Beer Camp beers.

Here is one from yesterday for Beer Camp #45: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/140/75798/?ba=libbey

Tasty little number and I'm looking forward to the rest.

I'm testing out an American Adjunct Lager today!

Batch 19 Pre-Prohibition Style Lager. I actually didn't know this was from Coors at first, not that I really care all that much who it's from. It surprised me when I tasted it, It is a nice tasting session lager, and I kind of forget the price but if cheap enough I wouldn't mind picking up for when I just want a plain ol' beer. I enjoyed having this one on a sunday afternoon after a few beers that had a bit of high powered profiles to them. It's nice to have something simple sometimes.

Greetings fellow NBSers! A warm and beautiful late summer day here in the Fourth Corner, and I took advantage by going for a 3+ hour bike up to the Canadian border and back. Some beautiful farm country and views of the North Cascades out in the wilds of Whatcom county.

Yesterday I worked at one of my local breweries. The start/finish line of a local 5-stage relay race, http://bellinghamtraverse.com/bellingham-traverse/home , was right outside the brewery and we were able to allow beer to be consumed on the sidewalk. I set all that up, supervised the area, tore it all down and helped out in the regular beer garden as well. A fun 10-1/2 hour day on my "Sunday". My shift brews were very tasty indeed.

My first review today is a new IPA from one of more widely distributed brewers: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/365/85373/?ba=beertunes . A pleasant enough brew, but not really outstanding either. Cheers all!

New American Wild Ale Sunday (week 395)

Greetings NBSers. A beautiful day to brew a Pumpkin Stout, so we did. Lotta homebrews enjoyed on the way, and now this finds its way into my glass. A disappointment by Captain Lawrence standards, but an enjoyable beer none the less. Hope you are enjoying a great American Beer in your glass right now. Cheers! Sorry about the picture quality.
