Good morning pipers of pale ales and drummers of dopplebock,

This will be short and sweet since I'm on my phone. Hope everyone is looking forward to another great Sunday of all things new and beery.

Weather this week has been wonderfully cool and getting me amped up for fall and all the great seasonals that will soon hit the shelves.

Today is the day and this is the place to TRY a new beer and TELL us about it. Please give us a good description of what you've had. Linked reviews and pics are always fun to add to the mix.

    Good day and good drinkin'.

    Peace, love, and malty-ness,

    Matt

Thanks Matt. I'm surprised I am the first to post here today considering it is almost 11AM CST.

We had a massive cool front drop temps into the 50's and 60's this weekend! The high only got to 61 yesterday which is a record low for a "high" day time temp for July in WI. I had to work and still rode my bike. I'm really enjoying this cool weather as I have been drinking some great Fall beers.

Today I cracked open a Morning Wood coffee stout as I seem to be starting a Sunday ritual with coffee beers.

My review is here. Cheers to everyone and have a great Sunday! I have a few more new beers to try today.

Good morning everyone and Happy New Beer Sunday. =)

This week has found me in good spirits. I went on a quest to a local brewpub for their bottled offerings; a Peanut Butter Chocolate Stout, a hefe, a weizenbock and a an IPA. They didn't have all four but the weizenbock was a winner at the NYS TAP festival in 2012 and it was easy to see why. The PB stout is just plain icky.

Anyway, that there is the "Rabbit wine stopper" that I believe would be of much better use than any of the expensive gadgets and gizmos that folks have said they are willing to purchase in order to save their 750 ml bottle for the length of time it takes to drink it comfortably.

I do now have a reason to seek out the other two bottles just to say I have had them all. After a feeding the drain with that I opened the beer I had actually intended for today. Brooklyn's Black Chocolate Stout. Oh so delicious.

I hope all of you are well and happy and look forward to today's posts in NBS. =)

    New Am. Pale Lager Sunday

    Greeting NBSer's,
Ditto on the weather here in SCMN as reported by Ri0. Cool but pleasant. I'm not ready for fall beers yet, in part as, contrary to most on these sites, Oktoberfests is one of my least favorite styles. They are fine, just not a favorite. Additionally, we had such a long winter and delayed summer that I have plenty in me before I tire of the warmth of summer.
For the 4th week I'm keeping with win/place/show in the recent U.S. Beer Cup. Today's is the third place winner in the American Lager/ Pilsener category. It is a homage to both the classic American lager and the Wisconsin Supper Clubs that so gladly served them. Makes me think of 1960's with big metal cars with huge trunks, driving on highways instead of freeways and a steak with a baked potato and iceberg lettuce salad with french dressing. Well done for style, just shouldn't be $9.99/6-pack.

Hey guys hope you all are well today, cavedave and beertunes in particular. Great week in Amish country. The little guy is laughing quite a bit and the family is settling happily into its new routine. Ominous clouds made for a short walk before a lunch of homemade pizza with goat cheese and home grown vegetables. I ate mine with this.

Just had a drain pour myself. Worst IIPA ever! At least it was free.
My review basically says malt bomb and syrup, where are the hops?

I love having drinking buddies even when I am at home by myself. I have mopped myself into the corner of the living room where my computer chair is as today is also cleaning day. I read your post and as I seldom have two on New Beer Sunday I decided to tip my glass to the drain pours today. Victory Hop Wallop. I bought this to find an example of something we have been talking about in the threads here. That is - bottle conditioned beers with a long shelf life. I am very happy with it.

    Cheers! Let's get drunk.

Now this is a nice IPA. My first from the land of Kiwi (New Zealand). Some unique NZ hops were used and it tastes great! I'm right there with you Jane.

Greetings fellow NBSers! Thank you all very much for all the well-wishes last week. The surgery was short, sweet, and successful. It's a warm, sunny, summery day here in the Fourth Corner. There's a beer fest in my town today, but I think I'm going to pass. I'm house sitting and watching a couple dogs. Then, in a while I'm, going across the street and sit with my "Nephew" for a few hours too. Maybe I'll walk him to Elizabeth Station and see if I can grab a couple more NBS brews. I stayed off beer all week, and for my first brew, while watching NASCAR and hoping Smoke can pull off another Brickyard victory, is one of my favorite yearly releases, a big beer for my re-entry: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/63/96035/?ba=beertunes . Cheers all, and maybe I'll see ya later!

    New American IPA Sunday!

Greetings to the NBS group from a warm and muggy Jersey Shore. Some light rain passed through the area earlier this afternoon. Now the sun is trying to stake its claim.
It's been a peaceful and happy weekend around here. I hope yours is good, too.

A golfing (and drinking) buddy just returned from a Florida trip and dropped this goodie from Cigar City on me:

If you look closely, you can see the Cedar trees in the background in front of the wooden fence.

Here's to beertunes and cavedave. Get well soon!

    New American IPA Sunday

Greetings, NBSers. Beautiful weekend in the greater St. Louis area. Low temps, low humidity, and no rain. Had a lovely bicycle ride yesterday. Mostly indoors doing some chores today, but likely outdoors later.

Here's my new offering for today - my first Deschutes beer:

Different mix of hops than I'm used to drinking in an IPA. Here's my review:

    NEW DUBBEL SUNDAY
    Greetings, fellow NBSers,
It's currently 80 degrees in mostly sunny Spokane, a welcome respite after a couple of weeks of unseasonably high heat in the mid to upper 90s. Last night I went to Rocket Market atop Spokane's South Hill and watched a musician friend's last Spokane show before she moves down to LA. While there, I picked up bottles of Black Butte XXV, Selkirk Abbey's Infidel and had a pint of Pike's black IPA whose name currently escapes me, but it was tasty. Great music and great beer make for a great evening!
Sadly, today's New Beer isn't even in the ballpark of great, although I had high hopes for it:

    New American Barleywine Sunday

Happy NBS everyone! Just drank a bottle of a locally brewed bourbon barrel aged barleywine, Elevator Brewing's BAR-BAR Barleywine: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1464/62132/?ba=bluejacket74

I thought it was a pretty good brew, it's definitely a sweeter barleywine. I'll probably put my pics on the "What are you drinking now" thread later today. I should have another new beer review on here in a bit.

    Cheers!

So, after leaving Cody and Red at Holly and Eric's, I'm now at Paige and Brian's with my nephew Gunner. We walked over to our local bottleshop, Elizabeth Station, where I grabbed 4 new bottles, and G-Dawg scored a new squeek toy and peanut butter dog treat. First up is a rather bland Pale Wheat Ale:http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1549/17141/?ba=beertunes

Wrapping up a great week in West MI. Got back from Traverse City where I was able to visit many awesome breweries and beer bars. Will do some place reviews soon.

Did yard work and decided to kick back with some soccer on tv and a solid beer in hand.
