It's on the "David Gilmour In Concert" DVD, which features what was mostly an acoustic show he did in 2002(?).

Happy New Beer Sunday!- here's one I probably should have gotten to a while ago, but just couldn't slip it in between all of the O'fests and Harvest Ales this time of year-
    [IMG]

Nice nose- citrus comes out right away, but there's an interesting blend backing it up- I'm getting peach, berries and apple- and then the pine starts to dominate. The palate is mellower than expected, very much like apples dipped in honey, which leads to the other fruits (mostly berries), and then a solid hit of toasty malt takes over through the finish. It's a very well-balanced beer that also packs some nice gentle surprises along the way. Bitterness could stand to be a bit higher, though- I could use a touch more punch and definition in the end. Solid job overall, and a beer I could see spending some time with come next year. B+, 3.85.

Since we're on the subject of RT today-

(I was actually at this show in '87...good times, folks. I can't believe the stuff you find on YouTube sometimes )

thompson is one of those guys that plays every note super clean. A master of his instrument. Some folks have complete command. He's one.

I learned about Big Bill Broonzy from a fantastic piece (Hymns to the Silence) by Van Morrison. It was in Van's rambling beautiful poetry that I first heard this name. Check it out!

Good Sunday all, we had the distinct pleasure of lunch at Lost Nation Brewing
in Morrisville Vt. To compliment there own offerings they were pouring a wonderful
Dunkle. A new beer for me and quite a treat. The impressive part was just how the malts shined.

    Andechser Doppelbock Dunkel
    4.3/5 rDev -0.2%
    look: 4.25 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.25

On draft at Lost Nation brewing in Morrisville VT.
A - Caramel, color, an ever so slight cream colored cap supported by gently rising
    carbonation.
S - A hint of smoked malt, wonderful caramel notes and a kiss of dark fruit.
Light brown sugar, and a touch of spice.
T - Malt forward and remarkably clean. Nothing to sweet here, the light hop hints
are buried in the back. We were sharing some smoked bluefish pate for lunch. The match
was quite nice. The finish is wonderfully dry for the style.
F - A delight, starts to coat the palate, then quickly runs for the exit, leaving only a
glass slipper of caramel to track it down with the next sip.
O - A real treat, the nose, body and finish show amazing restraint and balance.
    A new favorite.

    Cheers all

Thank God for Hofbrau - their quality to price ratio is off the charts for most of their offerings. The O'fest absolutely killed it this year, and the Original is no slouch, either.

    New Doppelbock Sunday

Cold here in Milwaukee. Today's brew was VERY enjoyable. I usually prefer the darker doppelbocks, but this one hits the style so well, and it really is a great "sipper". I love it! From Capital - Autumnal Fire. Really hit the spot on this cold November day! (I was going to score the overall 4.25, but as it progressed, towards the end, I decided on the 4.5). Going to enjoy the other three of the four-pack...

    Cheers!

Well, I also might be wrong. I might have gotten which months are 30 days, and which are 31, intermingled.

Probably only "new to me" of course (what with me being pretty new to beer in general), but I tried one of these for the first time at the local Mexican place tonight...

Actually, I ended up having two. I'd originally planned on trying two different beers while I was there, but the first one was pretty nice and when it was gone I wanted another!

    Greetings All:

Today it is Chasin' Freshies - 2014, a one-time release, showcasing Mosaic hops, from the fine brewers at Deschutes.
    http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/63/143965/

A very earthy hop flavor, with a dry bitterness and aroma that is more like pine straw than pine trees. Deschutes does a lot of one-off releases featuring various hops, and this is a good one.

Cold here in eastern Washington, but not as cold as some places this week. Sunny with lows in the low teens highs in the low 30's. A good day to drink this shiny yellow IPA and watch a little football. Tough loss for the Seahawks, and now the schedule gets really tough.

    Happy Trails!

[IMG] So here in CT on this gloomy Sunday it was a balmy 40 degrees tops . Spent the day catching up on the last of the leaves and getting my plow up and running for this season. Since the sun went down around 4:30 figures Id drink something besides bud heavys. Had this one sittin in my cellar from a trade a ways back.
Definetly a good stout, nice and blAck, good berry flavor but I don't get juniper?? Maybe it's me. Owell back to drinkin enjoy your Sunday's and see you next week. [IMG]

Welcome to BA, and especially a big welcome to NBS! Here on this thread, we are a bit separated by the fact that we take a minute to discuss what's going on in our individual worlds, and talk a bit more in depth about the beer that we're having. Picture yourself in the living rooms/on the barstools with your fellow NBSers. Talk to us a bit, and if you're not quite ready to do a full review, at least take a couple sentences to tell us why you liked, or didn't, that beer. It's easier than you think. Again, welcome aboard the good ship NBS (Captained by Cavedave and Utopiajane), cheers bud!
