Check the Total Wine nearest you. The one in Claymont DE regularly has six packs. It also holds up well over time so you might be interested in having someone bring you a case.

If you like Pils style and Munich Helles style beers you might give their Pils and Gold Lager a try. Among my top choices in those two styles.

Somehow, this Lagunitas beer has eluded me to this point too. It is toward the top of my hit list.

Hey all NBSers! My apologies for the late entry again but you gotta pay the bills. And besides I need cash to keep my stash of brews. Thank you Maria for the fantastic wake up this AM. Someday I hope to be able to partake in these earlier morning escapades but I don't see it in the near future...... Well I wanted to keep things all positive today but I just found out about the passing of the great Frank Gifford. Don't want to get too caught up and bore you all with football talk but I need to say a few words. I grew up in the Tristate area and was raised a NY Giants fan. As a young boy I watched with my dad (or listened on am) almost every Sunday. The organization became a part of my life. With the passing of my brother not a year ago yet I will always have a place or them. They broke the rules for our remaining family and let us put a tribute on the scoreboard for our brother at halftime last year at a game the three brothers attended annually. For this I'll be forever greatful. AND Frank played on both offense and defense and took a pounding which is unheard of anymore.
So I raise my glass to you!

NIGHT SHIFT BELAFONTE SAISON w/pink peppercorns and orange peel.

Hazy orange/gold with a huge white head dissapates to a single outside ring with polka dots of lacing on the sides.

Right out of the gates I get that citrus/peel, big juicy orange then the pepper chimes in with a good dose of yeast and spices.
Flavor is again huge orange/citrus with pepper heat and spices; clove , coriander. Yeast and bitterness, but more of a peppery bitterness rather than hops. Understandable. Floral note yes- as if eating fresh rose petals. Not sure if this is good though.....
Finishes very dry and crisp as label states. Prickly medium carb and pepper leaves a numbness on the tongue.
This was my first from Night Shift and perhaps not the standard of what their beers truly represent. I just felt like there was something missing somewhere. Nothing that good out to say this is really unique and or flavorful. Maybe a tax more hops to give it some sort of distinctive quality? I'm looking forward to trying their other beers but this one for me as just ok.
And for today's New Old Vinyl Sunday I've got something I think is appropriate. One of my favorite bands with a song written by George on their last LP. For You Blue........for big blue.
Enjoy your week and as always thanks for listening! Oh almost forgot- grab one of thes gadgets great to seal bombers which i never do - but couldnt get this whole one down.....Cheer![IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

When I saw the description on this a few weeks ago, I felt compelled to try it, but I have low expectations. I have certainly made quite a few chilis where I throw everything and the kitchen sink into it, but more often than not it is a mess.

    Hey what's going on?!?

Well there has been much new beer for me this week and to come. Kind of getting a bit overwhelmed by it, if you have seen some of my WBAYDN posts, I've been travelling up to Vermont and been hanging out buying and drinking the wares.

The Works Of Love (Earl Grey Tea) from Hill Farmstead I had today, among others. It's a collaboration Blonde Ale with Siren, and I am always impressed with blonde ales done or in this case, partially done by HF, even though it's not one of my favorite styles... far from it. REview is here: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/22511/185550/?ba=smakawhat

The weather up here is just perfect.. been doing lots of cycling to work off all those beer pounds... phew... mountains... are .. hard...

I need to get off the hops though, really... time to switch it up, time to dive into the stash of goodies picked up along the way.

So what else is new for our hero today???

Jack's Abby Brewing - Sunny Ridge Pilsner
    by imbibehour, on Flickr

    ------------------------

Poured from the bottle into a Libbey style pilsner glass.

Pale lemon yellow, almost lime green when to the light, and very opaque, unfiltered and cloudy looking. Good big and controlled forming head, bleach white, three fingers tall and very soapy retention but very long staying power. Very nice fine somewhat small amount of rising carbonation, even some cola bubbles hanging at the bottom of the glass.

Mild bready malts, and a touch of somewhat sour peach like yeast ester character. Different? Some very clean herbality manages to peak out, keeping classic and true to style.

Real interesting palate for a pilsner. Hop angle sort of comes between clean herbality and there's that mixing peach popping out, a fruit is coming from somewhere. Swallow provides though more classic German qualities. Bready malt sweetness, extremely clean but almost wet, and then a nice popping herbal green small hop finish. Lingering slight doughy malt.

A solid pils which seems to have a slight American slant to it in a good way. Very solid brew.

    look: 3.75 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 4 | Final BA score: 3.93

Evening, NBSers! I'm finally getting around to my first post of the day. I met up with @JamesStreet at the Malted Barley to share a few brews. Of the handful that were new to me:

    Ommegang Hop House

Is it normally this murky? Reviews seem to say yes...and no. Ugly beer, but very refreshing. Nice hop notes of pine and grapefruit peel, with a nice Belgian yeast profile in the background, and grainy pale malts. Very bitter.

    Proclamation Derivative

I had a sample of the Galaxy Derivative, and this glass is the Mosaic version. Both were quite good. As you might guess, Mosaic had a lovely aroma: juicy, slightly dank, with a touch of pepper. Flavor followed, in a very drinkable and easy format.

Good beers all around, and good company. Cheers, James, and cheers, NBSers!

Well, I am finally emerging for the dimly lit corners of this always-entertaining thread to share what new beer I am drinking on this fine Sunday with all of you apparent amateurs* of ale-centric alliteration.

I biked over to my bottleshop this morning to pick up a few new things. I didn't get anything too outrageous. Among the bottles was this pilsner. It was brewed for a beer festival this year in Laval (just across the river from the island of Montréal). I don't really go out of my way for Brasseurs du Monde's beers, but they are all fairly well-made as far as that goes. This one was no different. Both for better and for worse.

*- in the French sense: "fans"

It pours nicely with a neat little cap of cream-colored fluff. There is good active carbonation and it is a clear golden straw. Both in the aroma and in the flavor there is a real presence of what I would call "soggy cereals". Almost an oatmeal-like character. It tastes out of place and really took away from the beer for me. Aside from that is is all that it should be. There are some nice European hop aromas and a spicy feel to the flavor, but other than that it is a pretty balanced simple beer.
All-in-all it wasn't bad, but I probably wouldn't hurry out to get it again unless I was sure it was a little crisper and cleaner. But that's just, like, my opinion, man.

    As for my ratings, I gave it a 3.56 in total (A: 4 S: 3.5 T: 3.5 M: 3.75 O: 3.5)

Good evening fellow NBS followers I'm back with my second beer for the day but would like to offer the finish pictures of the smoked chicken I started earlier.
and this was the plated dinner with roasted corn and grilled zuchinni.
And I paired this with a new beer to me Victory nor defeat from Able Ebenezer in Merrimack NH.
This is there take on a DIPA and well started for a newer brewery.
This beer poured a darker orange yellow when poured into a tulip glass.
This is a fairly malt forward DIPA with some citrus flavors that come through in the nose.
The taste is not as heavily malted as expected with some nice citrus flavors.
The mouthfeel is smooth and last through out the glass.
This is an average quality DIPA for New England standards I gave it a 4.01 rating not something I am going to revisit to soon as there are a lot of better beers in the area.

I like the Quality of some of ET's Brews but the Price sometimes can draw people away. This one though is Delicious and worthy of the Price...well, IMO of course.

Howdy all! Some great-looking photos at a glance in here today, as always. Looking forward to going back through you boys' and girls' prose ...

My career as a beer drinker crossed a demarcation line yesterday. I'm now on the other side of my first visit to Jester King just outside of Austin, Texas. It truly feels like I've reached a horizon, burst through it to the other side and am now staring at a new horizon that fills me with excitement and wonder as the journey continues anew. But let's cork the pseudo-poetic hyperbole and see some of the sights:

Suffice it to say, Jester King is awesome. If you ever get the chance to visit, do so. And take your dog :grinning:. It lived up to the hype for me.

On to our New American Farmhouse Ale Sunday:

Provenance (Lemon & Lime) is a pretty straightforward beer for Jester King. It has all of the sour, earthy notes that permeate their beers with just an extra tart kick from the lemon and lime. At 5.7% ABV, it's very easy drinking, too, and the mouth-puckering, mouth-watering quality combined with the good crispness from bottle conditioning makes it perfect for our 100-degree weather (101 degrees here in the Brazos Valley as I type this -- only 102 heat index, though, so it's a relatively dry heat ).

That "signature" aroma and flavor Jester King has seems slightly but distinctly different from other farmhouse ales, including the good ones from Prairie Artisan. There seems to be more earthiness and even a herbal quality that at times gently hits notes that come off as rosemary, basil, mesquite, cedar, dogwood, hay and goatweed. This beer has all of that, but none of those notes other than a general barnyard mustiness (a combination of all of them) have enough strength for you to ever say "this beer tastes like mesquite" or "this beer tastes like goatweed". It's much, much more subtle than that and hard for me as a novice to describe.

    The review:
