Whoa, looks like I might have back to back beer posts here. Where are all the drinkers?

    Bretta Rosé from Firestone Walker:

    375 into a stemless tulip.

This really deserves the name Rosé. It's got that color, effervescence, foaminess, the whole nine. A beauty to look at. 5

Smell is all tart raspberries. Earthy and floral funk. Clean and beautiful. 4.5

Like the nose, this is just abundant in raspberry. Complemented by a lemon-y tartness and acidity. Finishes floral. 4.5

Tart, dry as a bone, acidic, mouth-puckering. The tartness requires that you sip slow, but the dry finish obliges you to drink up. Such a dilemma. 4.25

    This is veddy nice.

heck yeah ... the Late Night NBS has a few takers :grinning:

When I saw the date stamped on this one (6/7/16 ... bought on 6/21/16), I had to give it a whirl. Less than 3 weeks old is about as fresh as my IPA-hunting gets:

Martin House -- Juice Grapefruit Session IPA

One thing about Martin House: When they put something in a beer, they put the whole thing. Their pretzel stout has about 1/4-inch of pretzel sludge on the bottom of the cans, almost just to prove there really are pretzels in the thing.

Same deal here. Juice is full of grapefruit bits, tiny bits but bits all the same, and is it BITTER. Punches you right in the palate first sip, no malt, no sweetness, just grapefruit and citrusy hops. As the palate adjusts and it warms, you taste (and smell) a lot of biscuit malt sweetness. These dudes didn't skimp on the ingredients. And the nose is an A+ all the way, smelling like what I imagine a hot, sweet piece of grapefruit pie would smell like if such a thing existed -- pie crust and sugary grapefruit and all. The flavor doesn't show nearly as much sweetness.

Thanks! The best fit seems to be a movie "classic" that I've never seen - The Big Lebowski - based on a couple of other responses from other NBSers.

Sorry - no sarcasm. I've never seen the movie - no Bridges for me - "My lungs were burning for air!"

Ahhhh Monday sneaks up from the depths of night and jumps at first dawning of light to land with vigor on the week ahead. I wish it was still NBS instead.

As always an amazing assortment of delightful beers and marvelous descriptions and pictures that succeed once again in giving me inspiration to try and find them all. Thanks folks for making yesterday another wonderful addition to an 11+ year tradition. See ya again at the NBS Saloon in 6 more days. Cheers!
