    Well Hello Late Night NBS.
I've only read the first 2 pages, but I had to pipe in. All of the brilliant chaos that is NBS BIF #5 is in full swing. And I popped an amazing DIPA courtesy of my "abuser" @JBowenGeorgia . I am stunned by the shear beauty of this DIPA:

Modern Comforts a collaboration of Creature Comforts and Modern Times.

    4.35/5 rDev -3.5%
    look: 4.25 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.25

This peachy gem pours a slightly hazy orange to apricot in color. Fluffy white head rises 2 fingers high. Billowy white foam slowly retreats to just under a finger. Then it holds on for damn near the whole ride. Some clumpy lacing. But truth be told, a glorious head.
Smell bursts forth in a juicy mix led by slightly sweet orange, some pineapple, and mango. But I'm not getting a funky tropical pop, instead it's a juicy waltz between these fruits akin to slightly overripe versions.
Flavor follows the nose brilliantly. Again, so juicy. Round in the mouth. Filling every corner. That dance is sweet mango, orange, pineapple, and even hints of apricot. This should come in a 32 oz can.
Mouthfeel is slightly full and slick. Really a treat.
Overall, the only improvement I could offer would be for me to get hold of this on a regular basis.

Thankfully, he sent me 2. I'm going to save that to share for either the Purdue game or the Wisconsin game. Sooooo good. That way, even if my teams lose, I'll still be happy.

And though it's not new to me. I'm lifting a glass of BCBW (again, courtesy of BIFer Extraordinaire @JBowenGeorgia ) to the late great James Cotton. When I was younger and exploring the blues further than what my Pop had turned me onto, I was absolutely blown away by Mr. Cotton's work with Muddy Waters. I fell in love with various styles of blues, but always was drawn to that rural culture that smashed into Chicago. God, if I could go back in time.

Also, I toast Chuck Berry. While I never got to see James Cotton live, I did see Mr. Berry. Even in the 80's, he was dynamic and commanded the stage. American music fans owe these artists eternal gratitude.

Great review as always, Maria! I'm glad to see this impressed you as well! It's such a tasty and refreshing beer. The malt backbone is perfect on this type of IPA, and I think that's why it's so impressive. It's not thin or watery like many session IPAs, but it's not caramely and overly sweet, either. It's light, crisp, clean, and pilsner-like. The hop character is bright, clean, fruity, and grabs you right by the nostrils and pulls you in. And yes, it pairs very well with food. I paired it with medium-rare steak and tossed salad, and it perfectly complimented both the steak and the salad. An all around excellent beer that would be content to drink all the time.

Went to the suwanee beerfest this past Saturday with my 30 year old son as a tradition. We camped out at the last half hour and kept sampling it. This is my next go to IPA. We also had there new vienna lager which in my opinion was probably the best lager at this fest.

Wow! A 7-page NBS! Think it's been a while. The BIF helped, and I particularly enjoyed all the interactions with each other's posts. Cheers to another week, all!

Monday always seems to come upon the weekend's heels, And we are left to carry on no matter how that feels. A week of work before us but the end is now in sight. Consider this short poem as your NBS invite.

Hey if Sinatra can sing institute instead of institution I can write invite instead of invitation.

Hope it doesn't sound too corny to mention how much I have enjoyed spending these Sundays with you all. If I have failed to mention it often or well enough, accept this apology. I have tried to write all my posts with that thought near to mind. Hopefully some of it got imbued. What better time than now to say it?

Here's an idea, let's do it again next Sunday, what say? See ya then. Cheers!
