Sorry for not saying much about my personal life on here, as I tend to read these threads week after week and I see how social people are, that's cool and all. But if anything, I would like to say thank you for accepting me and my brethren from a beer website that we believe had it's "wheels come off" recently. But in moving forward and being happy for where I am in life with what I got, here is my entry for this week.

I'm not going to say anything about appearance, but the can is dated 07/19/2017.
But the aroma speaks highly of the blend of papaya and yuzu sweetness to eloquently glide over some lemon rind and a grassy hop underscore.
The flavor takes all of those prior mentioned aromas to bring together sweetly with an embracing bitterness. The aftertaste was full and pronounced with the papaya and the bitterness of the lemon rind.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair carbonation, somewhat seeming like it just brushed my tongue. Do I want to say lacking? Not sure if I want to go that far, maybe. Slight stickiness but not cloying. Almost impounding the finish in the same way.
Overall, aromas and flavors are the best thing about this beer and that's very well done, but this isn't my favorite one of this series. Usually, the beers in this series are very good but to me at least, I'm hoping that BBC will tweak the feel in this beer to make it phenomenal some day.

Awesome! There's nothing quite as nice as unexpectedly being blown away like that by a beer.:relieved:

Yeah, I got the last sixer at Linwood Wines yesterday. Tom, the beer guy, said it was flying out of there, too- right place at the right time, I guess. Feel free to BM me this week if you can't find any, I'd be happy to save you a can or two (the beauty of 6-packs ).

I have now!:sunglasses: Thanks for reminding me. I'll look into it and hopefully be able to swing it. When do people generally end up shipping for the October unveiling? The border and shipping kinda freak me out but I know it's possible and so i will look into the how and hopefully sign up in the thread this next week.

This one pretty much resembled a glass of champagne to me. Once the carbonation settles a bit and the beer starts to warm you get a nice citrus flavor along with the plum and sourness. A very good sour but considering the price not something I would buy again.

The official date is America's Columbus Day, Canadia's Thanksgiving. IIRC, you live not terribly far from the border. If it's convenient for you, you could use a drop box on this side of the border.

Three Notch'd Brewing Co., Charlottesville VA - "Bourbon Biggie S'Mores" 2017.

Pours black with ruby edges; tan loose foam; lots of clarity under fairly quick cap with solid ring; spotty lacing to bottom of glass; no legs. 4.0

I'll be, it smells just like a graham cracker; whiff of bourbon too. 4.25

Graham crackers, lite bourbon, cocoa with lite sweetness; touch of vanilla and honey as liquid warms. 4.25

Medium feel minus; somewhat creamy body; no warmth from the alcohol; tongue feels honey coated. 3.75

Overall, there is a fair amount of adjunct sweetness and chocolate, with a graham cracker finish; it drinks a little light for an imperial, and thus was not syrupy; super easy to drink for a bigger beer; I like sweeter beers, and this Stout is an outstanding dessert beer. 4.25

Thanks again to @cjgiant for this tasty treat.
Tomorrow will be a long day in South Florida, but I'm hoping I can chase down some beer while I'm there. Cheers y'all.

Good evening...I was hoping to be back with something special. Well, at least it is to me despite having almost 4200 ratings here.

We brought the grandson into the hot tub today...supervised, of course and the temp around 90F. He thought it was all that and a bag of chips, but it is a two person job for sure!

Golf...I tried it... I can hit the ball a really long way. Unfortunately I have no idea where it is going. Unless there was water around...then I knew exactly where it was headed.

Here is my glass of evening awesome:

It has been in the house for at least a year, but if that is a bad thing, the beer didn't get the memo. Beautiful pour, moderately cloudy. Smells of pears, yeast, earthiness, herbs and spicy phenolics. Very herbal, hidden sweetness. The taste is an amazing, controlled, mixture. Opens big with the phenolics and yeasty character. Sweetness shows underneath, brightened by a bfrief flash of sour. The grain dries things out a bit, then some peppery spice notes come in at the end. There is a fantastic earthiness that connects all the elements together.

Good beer right here, it will be well north of the 4.0 line on the score card.

Glad you enjoyed it. The graham cracker is strong in it, but not as much as the non-BBA. I might have to pop one I have left sometime this week to compare notes. Cheers!

    #2 for the day

Central Waters' Bourbon Barrel Stout 2016 edition

I have been sitting on this one for a few months. Decided to crack this one open while watching GoT. Picked it up as part of a trade.

A- Dark black beer color with almost no head and no lacing within 5 minutes of the pour.

S- Main smell is of bourbon up front. Can't pick up much other than whiskey.

T- Taste is somewhat subdued on the bourbon end based on the smell. Picking up some chocolate toffee flavors on the backend as it warms.

F- Somewhat thin compared to other stouts. A bit easier drinker than a lot of stouts, likely due to low ABV (9.5).

O- An easier drinking stout but nothing spectacular.

    Hello New Beer Sunday!!!

Today is very bittersweet for me. The good - the Benton County Fair is done for another year, and we rocked it. Not as good as last year, because the weather wasn't as good, but sales were still damn good at our booth. It's getting tougher to put in the insane hours needed to keep it going, but sales are worth it.

Now the bad, or more accurately, sad. Today would have been my dad's 80th birthday, and I must admit, it's so damn hard. First one without him here. My nephew decided to dedicate his Eagle Scout project to him, and today him, and a lot of volunteers, worked on it today in my dad's honor. I so wish I could have been there to help with it, but, had to be at work all day. I really miss calling my dad during fair week to wish him a happy birthday.

Ok, now to the reason why we're here - the new beer.
Eighteen 55 Brunch Stout from Bad Habit Brewing in St. Joe, MN

First off, the beer is listed as retired here. I've sent in the change request to change it to a rotating beer, which it is now.

Now to my thoughts: well, it's coffee forward. Nice hints of vanilla and chocolate. Doesn't seem too boozy, but is, for sure a strong beer. Probably the only downside is it is a bit watery, at least more than I would have expected. In spite of that, it is a damn good beer.

I raise this glass to my dad. He wasn't much of a beer drinker, or much of a drinker in general, but this seems like a good tribute to him on his first missed birthday. Cheers dad.

This beer pours a beautiful pitch black. The head is a nice brown, frothy, and 2 finger. Nice lacing on the glass.
The nose has got notes of coffee, chocolate, vanilla. Such a rich deep aroma.
The taste is very rich with the notes described above. Some bitterness on the backside. Coffee forward for sure, but all the flavors mesh well.
Not too bad, feel wise, but a bit more watery feeling than I would have expected.
Overall, this is a darn delicious stout. The flavors mesh so well together.

Just poured the third glass to review.
But, was that the best episode ever?:astonished:

Gentle to moderate pour yields an almost two inch off white head over a slightly hazy light golden body with some lacing. Nose of sweet herb, flower, honey, and some spice. Sweet taste of honey, floral spice, and slight citrus hop finish. Good feel and overall a real pleasure, but might be too sweet for some. Hey, it says "with honey" on the label! Cheers!

Time to drop a quick final entry after a long but satisfying day. I shared a bottle of 2015 Bourbon County Rare with the bro to celebrate his birthday on Tuesday. I purchased a few of these the past two years and decided it was time to enjoy one.

We drank this world class liquid and reminisced about old times growing up. The experience was memorable and one I'll cherish for years to come. Here's a shot of the review.....

My apologies for a somewhat abbreviated post, but I'm exhausted and in need of sleep. Have yourselves a great week!
