This is my favorite kind of post in that the writing is great, (my degree is in creative writing) yet the beer is thought of too.

I'm not drinking a new beer today, but I did run a personal best in the 15K. I have a Festbier from Utepils in the fridge that I need to drink, but that'll wait until a day in which I have an easy day of drinking (tomorrow probably). Utepils makes some of the best beer in the Twin Cities, and they're doing it with an ever growing crowd.

Tomorrow will be perfect form my next beer review.

It's a very well thought out museum/cultural center that takes the time to really plumb the depths of the whole Anabaptist (and other Protestant sects as well- to a limited extent) movement. All in all, I spent the better part of a day there and want to go back. Highly recommended.

Excellent! I know that a few of those are more for winter...the depth of winter.

Well Hello Late Late Night NBS!
I love the beginning today. Thanks @lordofthewiens . I hope to hook up with you one of these days in your new stomping grounds.
As for road trips, I've had my share. My most extensive, and personal favorite, was wandering through Central America for 3 1/2 months back in '95. Fell in love with Guatemala, in spite of being there during the civil war. Loved Honduras. Barely scratched Nicaragua. And although I loved Costa Rica for all of the obvious reasons, I could not wait to get back to Guatemala. In fact, I went back 4 more times. I've travelled through about 40 of our great states, much of Mexico, a bit of Canada, a bit of South America, a bit of Europe, and Thailand...and loved them all. But Guatemala has a special place in my heart.
Just took a quick trip up into the easter Sierra Nevada range. Tried to get a little alpine fix, but the smoke was SO bad fro the fires in the Yosemite area, it limited everything. :slight_frown:

But we're back, and work starts.

Absofruitly: Raspberry a Berliner Weissbier from Chapman Crafted in Orange, CA

Poured from a 16 oz can into my 18th street chalice.
Glorious ruby to watermelon hued with a fluffy white (pink-tinged) cap. Opaque. Clean foam sticks to the glass like soap.
Smell is raspberry all day. Fruity, jammy, real raspberry. Smells like Grandma boiling up the mashed fruit, ready to can, yet she had a gentle touch on the sugar.
Taste is mildly sour, enough bite to wake your mouth up though. Slight vinegar note, as well as salt. But the fruit keeps coming back. Like a mouthful of raspberries diluted down with a Berliner.
Mouthfeel is slightly slick, round, but the carbonation drops off a tad more than expected. But the flavors really involve the whole mouth.
Overall, a tad more carbonation, like it had in the beginning, and I's like it even better. But then again, I love this one already. Wife is asking me if she can finish mine!

Hoppy New AmeriCAN India Pale Ale Sunday (Week 702),CANtinued & Finalized!

I am going to invoke a little Paper Lace in my summation: Brother, what a day it really was/Brother, what a mash-in it really was/Glory be!/Brother, what a buncha beers the people drank/Brother, what a Homebrew Hang the people saw/Yes, indeed!

I'm tellin' you, that initial Evil Twin Molotov Heavy smoothed me right out! My barefoot walk to the gastropub where it took place brought me to my senses, but some of the homebrewed offerings were outta sight, baby. It didn't hurt that I also partook of their draught selection. Wild! It was a groovy scene, man, with a lotta people digging on Bro. Woody of the Order of Disorder in full hophead monk's regalia.

I came home & took a battle nap so that I could return with:

& although @Harrison8 beat me to it today, I also drank, reviewed & rated:

Enow! I CAN see yer slip, my dogs are at war with me after walking barefoot on hot macadam, madam & it is all wreaking havoc on my sleep, which MacBeth has unsuccessfully tried to kill. I CAN cry, but instead I shall take my leave until next Sunday, at which time I shall return with more … stuff!

Happy Birthday! Glad it was only a scare. I know how that goes. I'll drink to many more birthdays for you.

Thanks, Michael - I appreciate it!

I mentioned Wild Mind in my post - they're actually becoming my favorite brewery in MN, and they happen to make some terrific, tart, funky barrel-aged sours... so you might just expect something in the mail one of these days.

Thank you - appreciated! Funny how those weird scares and health concerns can really jar you out of your everyday routines.

We should exchange addresses one of these days, by the way. I have a couple of bottles I'd like to send your way!
