I am very happy to hear your appreciation of that one. Every so often I pull one out, and it's always different but always great.

I agree, I found the Book Club to be pretty good too.

    Bell’s “Double Two Hearted Ale”:

Pours a coppery amber with excellent clarity; big rocky off white foam; good cap retention; solid ring and moderate lacing; thin legs. Sweet caramel malt nose; boozy exhale. Sweet caramel malt, hop lemon bitterness with pine overtones. Medium body, moderate minus carbonation; alcohol bite on tip of tongue; slightly sticky feel. Overall a lot of sweet malt with a phenolic boozy finish; I like, but I like Double Trouble better...

    Well Hello Late Night NBS
I was kinda hoping to have something really unique to commemorate our friend Dave's (hopefully not last) hurrah here. Something interesting, a squirrel balls wild fermented Kvass, or maybe an Imperial stout with some taxidermically inspired packaging...I kid, I kid. Well, I just got hold of this one, and it does fit what I imagine would be a beer I would actually like to sit down and share with @cavedave while enjoying some snacks and conversation and maybe a walk in the woods. I really hope you chime in regularly Dave.
It was good hearing from Maria @utopiajane too. I'm lifting a glass to both of you fine, eloquent, generous, eclectic renaissance souls.

    Underground Mountain Brown by Founders

Deep slightly opaque brown in color. Fluffy mocha colored head rises, slowly fades to scattered bubbles. No lacing
Smell pushes a melange of dark roast coffee, charred brown sugar, and bourbon swagger.
Taste follows faithfully. Oh so light on the bourbon kiss comes the coffee. A round, charred sweetness comes through with smoky caramel, deep roasted coffee, dark chewy dates, a hint of squaw bread, and then it comes 'round full circle to a melange of dark roast coffee with a firm kiss of bourbon. The sweetness dries out a bit on the finish.
Mouthfeel is on the heftier side of medium. Not quite chewy, but significant. Carbonation is not visibly a factor, yet still adds to the feel.
Overall, a super solid brown ale.

I wish all of you fine folks, health, happiness, and fulfillment. Be it in the form of a fine drink, a rich book, a solemn poem, a glorious sunset, a meandering trail, a lover's eye, a muse's song, a dog's embrace, or a child's curiosity. I wish you all of that and more.

I am very late to the NBS party and I'm sorry I couldn't participate this time, I've been on the move these past two weeks, last vacay for me before the long fall and winter season.

Enough about me. I wish the best to @cavedave on his ongoing health issues. You've been quite dedicated to this site and always thoughtful. I'm confident you'll "make it" and return someday. My thoughts along with all the community are for you.

Btw I am very glad to have seen Maria @utopiajane posting in here, still lurking us in the shadows? Would like to see you again in this thread or WBAYDN but that's up to you.

With that said, good night NBS and see you later.
