Ice fishing is a lifestyle choice in Minnesota - pizza places deliver out on the ice, the "huts" sleep up to 8 and have cable/satellite hookups, and there's always stories in the spring of people that leave their houses on the ice too long and the house and/or the truck goes into the lake.

I love to fish, and we lived in Minnesota for 18 years, but I didn't fall for that crap - they weren't gonna have me sittin' on the crapper and shove the thing onto thin ice to see if I could maneuver my way outta trouble.

Almost picked this up at The Beer Store in Nashua this past Friday but passed on it for some stuff I wouldn't have to share. Might grab it now that you reminded me of it again. Cheers!

Been awhile since I've had a new beer on a Sunday, but the 12DOX BIF brings me a treat today courtesy of @Nichols33:
Look: Pours a murky brownish-orange with a ton of foamy off-white head. Familiar TH retention and lacing.
Smell: It shines here with orange and mango jumping out
Taste: Not super sweet, nice balance and a bitter hop finish.
Feel: That great pillow soft TH feel, with a super dry finish.
Overall: I great overall beer, really enjoying this.

    Thanks Jeff!

    Cataracts?
I had cataract surgery 2+ years ago.(But... you're too young for that. Maybe so, but I got 'em.:stuck_out_tongue: )Amazing difference! I was driving at night, 3 nights after the first one. Came to in the middle of the 2nd op, but it was only equivalent to having the wind shift around the fire."*shrug* I can handle this for another 5 minute." - There is sometimes a resistance built up to the anesthesia, so don't be surprised, but don't worry - no big deal.
Went for a clouded-moonlit walk on night of the the 2nd one.Could see everything!
Not what it once was (20/12) , & my cheeks take up the bottom 5-10% of the field of view, but I was pleasantly surprised by being able to see the white on a bald eagle, at about 1.5 miles, about a week after the second surgery.
Nice to see some pics from you, joining your helpful reviews.:+1: Look forward to more:clap:

Started off with this new-to-me beer & brewery, Petal Prophecy , from Burlington Beer Company. " IPA with honey - 6%" - BBCO spares no effort in their beer descriptions.
I was thinking it might come off like a lighter Hop Slam , +/-.
    Nope!
Smelled like a milkshake IPA,more-or-less, but taste ......WHOA!!! - bitter, bitter, & more bitter. I like it, but the taste entirely contradicting the smell downgrades it a notch. Like coming out of the above-mentioned anesthesia , it's a bit confusing to the senses.

    Then a slight break/reset from that^ palate-bruiser. (If you haven't had this, Von Trapp Helles , don't miss out - try it!:+1:)

Onto this latest experiment from Industrial Arts , a 10.7% wheat wine. Never had a wheat wine before, so don't know what to expect, or how to judge it. Canned 12/12, so if it's a touch boozy, I won't be surprised, or disappointed. (It isn't, & I'm not - disappointed.)

L : Looks like a IPA, except the head lasted & lasted & lasted , & is still there. At 10.7%, that's very surprising. :+1::heavymetal:
S : Has some of the estery Belgian elements, but not exactly. Also some industrial/solvent-y elements. (in a good way )
T : Doughy citrus + banana , earthy/mushroomy/bread crust near finish, and as it warms , a boozy/piney/bitter element. The taste & aroma is a bit more complex than that^ , so see the review, if you're considering obtaining this beer. If you like Belgian styles, especially if you also like funky/wild ales, there's a good chance you'll like this.
Feel is generally smooth, with some very fine carbonation bite. Not especially noteworthy in any one direction, which is a good thing - lets the flavors shine.

Overall, I really like this, & hope to go back for more, & let some age.

Good late night NBS, and thanks @lordofthewiens for today’s start.
We are in Cambridge after seeing Samantha Fish at Sinclair. She, and her band are amazing.
Today’s beer is from Notch Brewing in Salem
    Rauchbier
A - dark mahogany, creamy pillow cap, natural carbonation on full display
S - Beechwood up front, then caramel, pumpernickel , earthy hops
T- follows the nose with the smoke quality quick to move slowing the malt and hops to show off with perfect balance
M - Decoction allows for this 4% delight to have a full feel, almost creamy with a smoky linger
O - A really good offering that displays some attitude, with wonderful texture, clean lager finish, and exceptional aromatics
    Cheers all
    And enjoy your Holiday

Happy New DELMARVA (+ DC) Beer Sunday (Week 774)!

Well, the best laid plans of mice & men aft gang agley! I quickly came to realize that a) I did not have the stamina for an extended session & b) many CANs needed an approved pic. WTF?!? I could have sworn that I vetted everything in this circus, but admittedly, it was done while I was a homebound, doped-up fool following surgery back in June. I suppose that it was inevitable that some dropped through the cracks, but still ...

I picked up where I left off with:
    https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/42846/425541/?ba=woodychandler#review
    [IMG] (DE), then onto:
    https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/30007/101527/?ba=woodychandler#review
[IMG] (DE) & then something a bit more common:
    https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/31212/99966/?ba=woodychandler#review
[IMG] (WASDC), but then I felt that I needed some surrealism in my life, so I turned to:

Finally, I decided to get Wild & simply go to bed, following:

Everything remaining will show up in WBAYDN, but I am satiated.

    Breckenridge Christmas Ale

Pretty mahogany with a nice head. Smells of sweet malt. Tastes of caramel and fruit. Has a burnt and bitter quality to it. Relatively thin bodied. I enjoyed this one. It's the kind of beer that I'm happy is still around because it feels like the sort of product that would have been discontinued (and I mean that in a good way).
