Yep. Using BeerAdvocate convention, you'd classify it as a "Baltic porter" (lots of which are made with "lager yeast"... and people don't generally bother with any porter/stout distinction with that term).

Took one for the team. Thanks. Now I can say, "No thanks, somebody I know, who has similar likes and dislikes, told me all I need to know."

Well, this is too easy. Label it a malt liquor and enter it as such in next week’s SSAMLNBS800.

It’s imperative that everyone here note all the latest NBS trends. We’re a fairly adventurous group. You must keep up, my ninja.

I loved BIFfing with many of y'all when y'all rocked our NBS BIF. But here is where my heart lies, and I can't handle this BIF madness 4 times a year. But having said that, you rock that one, and keep us in mind in fall...NBS #12.

Cigar City Florida Cracker - I don't think about White Ales much anymore and I couldn't even tell you when it was that I have had one last. This is a really nice beer and refreshing, could drink this just about anytime.

Maybe American Imperial Stout, otherwise Baltic Porter would do...

[IMG] Poured into a 20 ounce giant tulip glass canned not sure when it was canned. Pours midnight black on a cloudy winters night, with a 3 finger mocha head, that settles rather quick leaving little to know lace. 4.25

Smell is cocoa nibs, vanilla bean, marshmallow, coffee, and toffee. 4.5

Taste follows cocoa, vanilla, marshmallow, toffee, and a little hint of coffee. 4.5

Mouthfeel is a tad thin, a touch dry and not a problem with that, a little under carbonated even for the style, but at 10.5% it is extremely approachable. 4

Overall I went in expecting a lot and it almost lived up. I wanted it to be a little more carbonated and chewier, but it is one of the easiest drinking 10.5% imperial Stouts ever. Thanks @mschrei for this imperial stout. 4.25

Finishing my night with a beer has been brewed in a few years, but Tired Hands thankfully brewed against, WoodLaHands. This is a Flanders Oude Bruin brewed with shiitake mushrooms.

    4.31/5 rDev +0.7%
    look: 4 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4 | overall: 4.25

500 ml bottle poured into a Ourison glass

A- A murky reddish brown with a small tan head.

S- Sour, earthy, cherries, dark fruits, caramel malts.

T- Sour, cherries, dark fruits, mushroom earthiness, some caramel malts, some lemons.

M- Smooth, light to medium body.

O- A tasty Flanders, I was hoping for the mushrooms for be more front and center, but they add a nice mild earthiness to this. Honestly if I didn’t know it was brewed with mushrooms I would have not known.

Ha! I’ll let you know if I ever find “craft seltzer” to be better

Assuming you mean my attempt at a little fun with the review, thanks! If you mean the beer itself, then we do have somewhat similar tastes
