[IMG] This series from Kettlehead Brewing and Modestman Brewing if I am correct they are using the recipe from each other. The Most Beautifulest Thing In The World is my personal favorite from Modestman.

Poured into a 16 oz Nordic pint canned 6/30 or 7/1. Pours a very attractive yellow orange with a solid finger sticky white head that leaves thin lines of lace with excellent retention. 4.75

Aroma is tangerine, passionfruit, papaya, cantaloupe, stone fruit, and apricot. 4.5

Taste follows tangerine, papaya, passionfruit, cantaloupe, stone fruit, and apricot. 4.5

Mouthfeel is above average, soft creamy mouthfeel, not sticky or dry, and at 8.4% big flavor but easy going down. 4.75

Overall I am a fan, I can’t wait to try each breweries version. I would say this is a great start. 4.5

Howdy hope you're having a fun day!
Unfortunately I just found out there was another mass shooting - bystanders for a 4th Celebration - apparently from the roof with an AR15 again. WTF will this end? Really disheartening for this day.
I am going to crack my first from a box I just received from the awesome @JayORear
Pliny the Elder DDH. Had the base but this is my first with DDH.
First off its a beautiful beer, burnished slighlty hazy gold with a huge foamy head that has excellent retention and laids of sticky lacing.
Resinous pine on the nose with grapefruit and some fruity tropical and floral notes. Wonderful.
Taste follows with classic WCIPA notes of pine, grapefruit juice and bitter rind, an ever so subtle hint of honey malts. Tasty bitterness, drying finish, perfect carb, goes down very quickly for 8%. What a treat. Cant compare to the base but this is just a superior beer. Oh so hoppy, bitter and balanced for easy drinking. The king of WCIPAs and IPAs in general. Makes me wonder why I drink NEIPAs.
Just delicious and perfect for this day.
    Thank You Jay.
    Peace to all.[IMG]

E9 - Eve's Lament. Mixed culture sour aged over apples.

Clear pale yellow, no head, pretty still. Smell is tart, oaky, a little green apple.

Taste is odd. Tart, apple, lots of apple skin, something kind of chemical in it that I don't really like.

Mouthfeel is smooth. Light. Soft. Overall, not bad. Not my favorite from them. Interesting.

12oz can into a pint glass.
L: Pours light yeast hazed medium caramel color w/a 3/4" white soft head, decent retention staying creamy, moderate sticky random lacing, medium carbonation.
S: Sweet caramelized malts, light cocoa, light plastic, caramel candy.
T: Rich caramel malts, light resin, toasted grains, lightly sweet, gently pale, light bread dough, citrus zest, a hint of berries, honey, resin is in linger.
F: Soft & smooth w/a med-bodied mouthfeel and a soft, kind of juicy medium long finish that lingers.
O: A well hopped American IPA that drinks very easily for it's 7% ABV. It has a lovely wave of malt taste that returns in the finish to round out it's bitterness. It is very good in it's style.

There was one 4pk, undated, of this left. Never heard of beer or brewery so naturally Im grabbing it.
Drowned Lands Beer Essence of Terra TIPA. Simcoe, Citra, Ekuanot.
Says Dirt Rich on the label which I dig- all the proverbs and graphics....
Pours a hazy orange gold with a nice head that settles to a thin ring and cap with spotty lacing.
Aroma is orange marmalade, lemon, mango, pineapple and apricot.
Taste follows with candied citrus, tropicals, lemon-lime, apricot and yeas its earthy as heck, honey sweet, fairly prominent, is followed by a decent pine bitterness with just a touch of inoffensive hop burn. Pretty freakin balanced for 9.5%
Tiny carb throughout, slight alcohol burn. Wow this is really, really good.
Picked the right one today. Great combo of East and West Coast IPAs.
    Batting 1000 so far today.
    Cheers!

Pours a deep dark brown with a fairly substantial head that dissipates very quickly leaving the faintest of rings around the edge.

The aroma is heavy with fresh sweet raspberry. Chocolate peaks through with a little vanilla as well, but the raspberry takes centre stage.

Taste follows. Raspberry dominates. The chocolate comes though later in the sip. I get a slight cherry note on the finish as well. sweet, but not over the top in a pastry stout kind of way.

    The body is fairly light.

This is nice. It goes well with day at home tending to a discontented five year old with conjunctivitis. I tend to shy away from berry stouts. They tend to be hit or miss with me and often the latter. This one is a hit. Thanks Craig.

Happy Fourth of July southern neighbours!!

Dark, semi-murky body; thin head, splotchy flecks of foam dot the glass. Very faint aroma of mild, dark grain. Light cocoa flavor; quiet bitterness. Thin, dark malt taste; very mild hop bitterness. Light to moderate body; slick and watery but not thin per se.

    A nice, unpretentious dark ale.

How much more American can a beer get, right? (What are you saying? … They’re Belgian? They’re Brazilian?... Never mind.)

Anyhow, we have the Clydesdales! (Wait… they’re Scottish???)

    Aw, heck. Forget all that!

It’s hot dogs and brats on the grill, fireworks and a Bud!

I assume I’ve had a Bud before, but the last time was at least 40 years ago (probably longer). And I have no specific memory of it amongst a sea of similar beers.

The 4th of July seemed to me to be as good a time as any to give it a proper tasting.

I reduced the temp of my smaller beer ‘fridge specifically for this beer. The ‘fridge was at about 38°F when I removed the beer. The beer was at about 40° when I started tasting.

Clear, pale yellow, lightly carbonated body topped with a tall white head, thick and creamy-looking with retention on the short side of moderate. Nice looking for the style.

Pleasant, if weak, aroma. Malty with hints of sweetness. No complexity, but still nice.

Light flavor of malts. Smooth in the beginning, and remaining such throughout. Some (but very little) bittering appears in the late middle and carries through to the finish. As with the aroma, no complexity, but still enjoyable. The aftertaste is mild and lightly malty with slight bittering. The overall taste is just a little on the sweet side. The finish and aftertaste are more malty than crisp, ending, again, just on the sweet side. (The slight sweetness of Budweiser is apparently one of the differentiating factors – according to other reviews – from the other top-selling AALs, but I like it.)

The mouth feel is thin, decent carbonation feel, and surprisingly creamy (in a light sort of way).

Overall, I am surprised that I am enjoying this beer as much as I am. In flavor and in body, it certainly beats the heck out of the plethora of light/Lite® brands from these macro brewers.

One additional comment: unlike some other macro lagers – and even some non-macro lighter lagers, this beer does not develop off-flavors as it warms. It remains pretty much as it started.

NB: The following rating is with style in mind, but it also is a fair reflection of my enjoyment of this beer. Imagine that. I think I'll crack a second!

    L: 3.75 | S: 3.25 | T: 3.5 | F: 3.25 | O: 3.5 | Rating: 3.43

PS: The shopping trip when I bought this beer, just a few days ago, included 11 MN-brewed beers, some VERY local, and this Budweiser was BY FAR the freshest of the bunch! The next freshest was 6 weeks older, with most being +2 months older! Great job, AB-Inbev/distributor!

So I had plans to have a couple of “special” beers today, including one from the brewery I’m getting ready to review - and then Mrs O told me we’re going to Red Lobster for dinner.

After 32 years, I know where my bread is buttered.

So it’s time to reconnoiter - or pivot, as the kids like to say today. This beer finishes off the mix pack I picked up a couple of weeks ago. I believe the Goose can amp their game up a bit with these mixers.

This beer pours the slightest hazy sunshine color I’ve seen in a hazy - it’s a LOT closer to an old school WCIPA than it is to a hazy, IMHO. There’s also a sudsy oatmeal colored head that dissipates quickly and provides very little lacing.

The nose has some nice peach notes and a lot of white grape aroma, and maybe a bit of guava. The white grape flavor is forward on the taste, with a nice peach flavor as well, and a bit of guava.

The mouthfeel is medium and on the softer side, the haziest component in this hazy IPA. If you wanted an easy to access hazy for a day at the beach, this would work, IMHO.

Figured what the hell ...I'll do my first post here.
Logsdon Farmhouse Ales - Power Hammer Baltic-Style Porter. Canned 12/20/2020 and purchased a few days ago. Don't know if dates matter much for Porters.
Smell is a dominant strong malt followed by a pleasant cocoa coffee scent.
The taste is exactly what i expected from the nose as with all well made beers and not much else. Not gonna sit here and try to pick up 1000 other tastes or smells . This is perfect and it doesn't need much else . I love this and wish this wasn't the last one on the shelves. 4.5 /5

Funny enough I tried to make my first sort of Montreal style hot dog today. My brother brought cole slaw and we had hot dogs after our parade party when we went to my in laws.

I still have some leftover slaw so I may dice up some onions to include as well later this week.

Nice having you @Resistance88 so we’ll see you next weekend Saturday and Sunday right???:beers::grin:

    https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/30542/610479/

16 ounce can without a date.

Moderate to vigorous pour yields a huge 2 inch white head over a light to medium hazy body with lacing.

Nose of citrus, slight tropical fruit, and even slighter pine.

Taste mirrors nose pretty closely with a finish of citrus pith and slight pine bitterness.

Mouthfeel is good and fairly mouth filling.

Overall, a more than decent IPA from Brandon, VT.

    Cheers!
