Another beer for the weekend that is new for me. Inspired by @NorsemanOne tasting earlier tonight and courtesy of @snaotheus . Thank you for sending the gift beers @snaotheus
This is Ferment Brewing Kolsch a 4.5% treat out of Hood River, Oregon.

Sampling a fridge temp 16 oz can poured into my stange. Date stamp is canned on 2/20/2023.
The beer pours a crystal clear bright gold color with a fluffy bleached white head of 2.5 cm foaming up at the end of a gentle pour. This foam leaves some scattered lattice as it recedes during the tasting.
Aroma is pretty mild with a bit of crackery malt and some floral hop notes mixing together. No ABV hints and no off scents either for this brew.
First sip reveals a light body with fine tingly carbonation and a soft texture. Beer drinks very easy, which is definitely appropriate for the style.
Flavor is some cracker and biscuit and then a bit of white grape and some floral hits, but the white grape finishes for me. Also very dry on the finish encouraging me to take another sip of the beer.
This is a pretty solid kolsch that I am glad to have tried, unlikely to see it again, but its worth the sampling if you have a desire for a clean easy drinking beer.

16oz can served in a curvy Fremont glass. Don't see a date on it. Got it in a trade from @NorsemanOne.

Pours a hazy amber-orange color with an initial burst of head, maybe peaking at 1.5cm. Settles fairly quickly into a thick, uneven skin with a moderate tendency to cling to the side of the glass. Smell is super tropical juicy, I think it's mostly mango and maybe a little pineapple.

Taste is similar, maybe a bit more of a citrus note, maybe a bit of an overripe fruit note, definitely a little bit of the booze is present. Some citrus pith bite in the finish, which is nice.

Mouthfeel is smooth, somewhat heavy, slightly still -- could use a bit more carbonation. Overall, this is a pretty good beer.

    Greetings, fellow NBWers,

Last week had some weird stuff happen involving a friend's health. Take to long to go into, so I'll just say it threw me off my game enough that I missed checking in here despite having had a new beer. Since last weekend, weirdness continued in the form of strange weather. On Monday a weird hailstorm transitioned into a full-on snow storm that created slushy roads for around three hours, and then it all melted away. Since then there have been a couple more snow flurries, rain, clear skies and warm weather up almost to 60°, and now rain again.

I've only had a couple beers this weekend. Yesterday I paid a visit to Logan Tavern because they had various city,-themed hot dogs as specials, and I wanted to see whether a "Seattle Dog" deserved to be a thing.

It does. Quite tasty, in fact, if also a bit messy (the side item was pickle fries). The beer that washed it down was a Swap Meet, an IPA from Humble Abode. Billed as a NEIPA, it was as much a juicy IPA as a hazy one, which often seems the case for PNW examples. I'd classify the beer as one to definitely try if you encounter it, but not one worth the time and effort to chase down.

Today, my new beer comes courtesy of @Roguer, a barrel aged stout from Fox Farm:

Holy crap! There is a tremendous amount of barrel in that bottle! Lots of flavor but also lots of heat. 2022 vintage, but if I were to come across another bottle I'd set it down for at least a couple more years. Thanks, @Roguer!

Stomach has been a bit flip-floppy today, and it's getting late, so I think that'll be all the beer drinking I do this weekend.
    Cheers, y'all!
