Back East - Double Scoop, NEIPA. From @sulldaddy, in NBS BIF #17 madness.

16oz can served in a snulip. Can does not appear to have a date on it.

Pours heavily hazy (not murky), medium amber, with a medium sized head that settles into an attractively even thick ring and a very thin skin with some gaps in it. Smell is not super powerful, I get very ripe tropical fruit and a little booziness, some pineapple.

Taste is on the rich, sweet, ripe fruit, I might describe a vanilla note, it definitely has a creamy sense to it. Booziness is still there. With a little patience, some bitterness comes out, somewhat vague, mostly fruit skins/grape stems in nature, I think.

Mouthfeel is big and chewy, not oppressive but moving in that direction. Overall, this is a pretty nice beer.

    Greetings, NBWers,
It was a moderately pleasant if mercurial Memorial Day weekend, weatherwise, here in the wilds of Spokanistan. Saturday started out very nice, but abruptly clouded up and rain cats & dogs about 10 minutes before I arrived at Precious Things Fermentation Project, one of my favorite local nanobreweries. Drinking there was consequently an indoor activity. I shared a bottle with the owners/brewers that I received courtesy of @Roguer and the next-to-most-recent NBS BIF, a wild ale brewed with cherries from Fox Farm.

It wasn't really a proper reviewing environment, but it was very tasty stuff, fruity and funky. Thanks, Roguer!

So far, the only beer I have actually properly reviewed was this pastry sour from Great Notion, Reeferm Madness, brewed with multiple kinds of fruit and berries and marshmallows. It was pretty distinctive looking, whether one is referring to the label or the actual beer in a glass.

In a nutshell, if you really like pastry sours, then you will dig this. And if you don't like pastry sours but are intrigued by the can label, maybe you can put up with it.

Today I hit this after dinner, courtesy of @russpowell. It's a milkshake IPA brewed with blood orange puree.

Milkshake IPAs are strange beasts. I enjoyed the flavor of this, but it's not something I'd ever want more than one of per drinking session (I can only imagine what a hangover from hitting this one hard would be like!). Thanks, Russ!
