    Hello Almost Late Night NBW.
I'm hella happy with the Boilermakers win that Mike @ovaltine mentioned. But not drinking much yesterday or today. But I did hit this one to see if it was worthy to send to my target in the latest NBS BIF #18...
    Coffee & Cakes
    16 oz can. PK 010524
Deep and dark. Soft fluffy froth rises 2 fingers and then settles to a firm ring. Decent retention. Clumpy lacing.
Nose pumps a firm coffee roast and then a gentle maple sweetness.
Flavor comes in as predicted: coffee roast, maple syrup, cocoa, caramel, and a hint of warmth.
Mouthfeel is full, mildly carbed, and finishes with a balance of the sweet notes and a slightly bitter roast.
    Overall, pretty solid.

I'm on the fence as to wether or not to send. Pretty good, but, well... @zeile33 Have you had it?

Industrial Arts Safety Glasses White w/ Coriander and Orange Peel - Pours a hazy yellow, generous head, medium carbonation and lots of floaties. Smell is spicy and picking up on the coriander and orange peel. Taste is decent but there's not much going on here, a hint of a White Ale and crisp but fairly bland. As it warms it opens up a bit but with the amount of floaties I am wondering if this is an off can (01/18/24); the lingering head and lacing is impressive, though. I have two more cans so over time I'll see how those stack up.

OK, came back to hit this one from @snaotheus
    Over Ripe by Great Notion
Thanks to snaotheus for fresh, stamped JUST A STEENAGE DIRTBAG 01.22.24
Yep, she's hazy. Billowy head, 2+ inches in altitude. Good retention with some clumpy lacing.
Nose absolutely pops with pineapple, peach, mango, and tangerine. But it comes on hard, almost too hard. A most understated, or overwhelmed, hint of biscuity malt meekly shows up under the cacophony of tropical juice.
Flavor is a bit more subdued than the nose hints at. The pineapple comes to the fore rapidly, grabbing your attention. But the peach, mango, papaya, and even tangerine all chime in as well. This is where more depth is found.
Mouthfeel is a tad fluffy with a mild hop heat warming the finish.

Another goodie from BIF18. Cheers @FBarber

Hop Butcher For The World BLAZED ORANGE Milkshake DIPA, 7.5% abv; 4.11 overall

Pours a haze gold with a thumb of cream colored head. Nice lacing above average head retention

    S: Orange and vanilla cream

T: Follows the nose there are both sweet and somewhat bitter oranges mixing in and a kiss of lime as well up front plus dryness. A little sweet vanilla lime and tangerine plus a little dryness as a spear warms up. Sweet vanilla tart and acidic Orange and dryness in the Finish, plenty of lactose showing as well

MF: Medium body slight carbonation. Carbonation picks up as the beer warms, good balance

These milkshake IPAs are in my wheelhouse and this is a very good one very drinkable

Tizzie Whizie (yes, that's what the label says, even though I really want there to be another Z), an English barleywine from Land Grant.

12oz can served in a curvy Fremont glass. Date on the bottom of the can is only half-legible, and seems to indicate it was canned sometime in November of 2023. Got it from @ovaltine in NBS BIF #18.

Pours a rich dark caramel color, slight haze, big creamy head, settles over a few minutes into a thick, lumpy skin. Moderate amount of active carbonation, very fine. Smell is brighter than expected. Light caramel, bright orange, maybe some orange blossom. Seems to be some earthiness lurking in the background.

Taste is also interesting. Earthiness from the aroma seems to have turned into a dry, crumbling wood. Orange and orange blossom are still there, but darkened somewhat, maybe toasted a bit? Malt is certainly taking center stage, though. Straight up graininess along with a strong biscuit flavor, caramel is still there, too.

Mouthfeel is on the thick side of medium but far from oppressive. Overall, this is both good and interesting.

Tmavé Pivo from Pour Man's Brewing. A Czech dark lager. Thanks to @DIM for sending this one!

Poured from a can at fridge temp. Pours a dark brown with a thin layer of tan head. Solid lacing. The nose is roasted malts, bread, oak, peanuts,

Taste is burnt wood, dark German bread, roasted malts, dark chocolate, slight toffee, and a bit of a dark fruit - prunes mostly. Rye spice comes through. Really nice overall.
