I just hit the Blackberry version. It had an extra year on that one so I decided it might not hold up and thus didn't send it along...It actually held up really well. Sorry.

The Royal We from Bottle Logic. Cold, hazy quad IPA featuring Mosaic, nectaron, and galaxy hops. Cheers! Comes in at 13.3% ABV!

Poured from a can at fridge temp. Pours a murky orange with little head. The nose is citrus - orange and grapefruit. Vanilla, creamsicle, Taste is pine, orange, booze, slight caramel. The booze definitely comes through.

Nothing to apologize for, solid sour. That is a style where I find more misses than hits once you get past the greats. It was a solid B/B+ to me.

Firestone Walker 2022 Gold Rider from my Wichita haul, 11.0% ABV; 4.22 overall

Pours a ruddy Hazel with cream colored head. No head retention and lacing

S: Lemons and Barrel rawness, green melons and Midori. Oranges shows up as this warms up. Fantastic nose!

T: Follows the nose, a touch of figs and treacle up front, the boozeyness is pronounced, but it works. More Barrel, some boozy orange/lemon and peppery woodyness as this beer warms up, some White wine aspects as well. Finishes with raw oakyness, Lemons and oranges soaked in booze, dryness as well

MF: Medium body, near zero carbonation, very warming. Needs more carbonation, did start to grab the enamel once room temperature

Interesting offering, but a sipper to be sure. Not a fan of Cognac, but this is good

Last one for me this weekend! Gotta be rested to hike around and watch the eclipse tomorrow. Picked this up in Winooski, Vermont at Four Quarters Brewing Company. This is Sugar Plum Fairy their 10% Strong Belgian Dark Ale.

    onto my review

Sampling a 16 oz can lightly chilled and poured into a plastic sampling cup. Picked up the beer at the brewery tonight. No date stamping on the can or the label.
the beer pours rich clear amber color with some mahogany highlights in the cup.
A fizzy beige head of .5 cm foams up and fades to the thinnest of edge layers very quickly after I finish pouring the can.
Aroma is some brown sugar, dark fruits (raisin and plum) . I also get a little red grape and some yeast notes too. Not funky or anything, sort of doughy. No hops and no fusol booze or black pepper to hint at the higher ABV.
First sip reveals a medium to light body, with fine and sort of spacious carbonation. Texture is smooth and the beer drinks much easier than anticipated, no real stickiness that I expected from a higher ABV brew.
Flavor is definitely on the sweeter side with some brown sugar, plums and raisins again. Here I also get some black pepper bite on the finish to hint at the booze. No hops to be found on this beer at any point. A pretty tasty brew that I am enjoying. I dont get any yeast character on the flavor profile, that would really make this beer outstanding. Still very glad to have bought this and have more in the cooler!

14 beers later I'm a little hazy on it but the citra/Nelson combo was really nice. Not overly juicy, more balanced, and had a solid malt backbone with an easy bitter finish. Everyone in the group enjoyed it and it was a good way to start the night

Not one, but two new to me Jack's Abby lagers.

A great pilsner but with the NZ hops. I wasn't aware of its existence and was expecting a dry-hopped pilsner. But instead, got a clean German-style pilsner with a twist of different hops.

A great attempt at the Czech-style (Bohemian) pilsner, but I'd stick to Jack's Abby core offerings and the OG Pilsner Urquel.

Visited a couple friends I haven't seen for more than a year and met their three month old daughter, went to a musical with the family, now back home on the couch chilling with a new-to-me BIF beer...it's a good day.

12oz can served in a slightly tulip-shaped wineglass. Packaged on 02/19/24. From @ovaltine in NBS BIF #18.

Pours a slightly hazy light amber, fairly big head, very dense, moderate carbonation. Smell is cleanly tropical, more rind than juice, but quite fruity.

Flavors move more in the direction of citrus, but stays in the realm of rind. Juicy, but still not dominantly so. Rind bitterness builds up pretty quick. Maybe on the intense side of pale ale, maybe on the mild side of IPA.

Mouthfeel is light, airy, clean, dry. Overall, pretty solid IPA.
