As @Dimidiata used to say on many Sundays “On Sunday we drink Barleywines”
I don’t have the meme to go along with it but I did drink a barleywine-
    [IMG]
Poured deep brown with mahogany tints and a beige 1 cm head that left no lacing.
The taste leads with vanilla, no doubt about its presence. But it doesn’t end there - the malts present toffee and caramel and, well, vanilla with figs and raisins wrapped in leather filling out the flavors.
The feel is slightly viscous, just what I prefer in my barleywines.
OA, I thoroughly enjoyed it. This one was a pint and I would have easily consumed more.
    Good beer!

Social Project Brewing's Sweet Dreams Cinnamon Roll Stout, 10.5% ABV; 3.45 overall

Pours a chestnut tinged mahogany with 2 fingers of rocky mocha colored head. Great lacing & good head retention

S: Loads of cinnamon, not much else

T: Cinnamon & watered down coffee, some dryness & woody hops, some vanilla, & cocoa on the fringes up front. Vanilla, cinnamon, cocoa & weak coffee as this beer warms up, a slight booze kiss as well, plus dryness. More coffee once warmed, but not enough to save it, some cocoa, dryness & dryness, dryness & sadly more cinnamon in the finish, a little vanilla as well

MF: Medium, aggressive carbonation. Carbonation tones down a bit once the beer is warmer

Cinnamon if overused will put me off on a beer, that is the case here

Holy Mountain - Fresh Hop Mosaic IPA

16oz can served in a curvy Monhegan pint glass. Holy Mountain doesn't date their cans because they're dumb. They use their can stamping equipment to print stupid jokes, like "One Last Hit" in this case. Bought it yesterday at Full Throttle Bottles.

Pours hazy orange-amber with a medium sized head. Smell is menthol and grass, herbal and cut greens, citrus zest. Fresh and bright.

Taste is...oh man, really good. Slightly boozy, tons of honeysuckle and floral sweetness, kick-in-the-teeth citrus pith bitterness, moderate tropical juice, strong cut vegetation bitterness.

Mouthfeel is rich, almost thick, slightly chalky. Very nice beer. Like, super nice.

Grains of Wrath - Fresh Hop Stunt Monkey

16oz can served in a half pint shaker glass. Seems to be dated 09/20/24. Bought it at Full Throttle Bottles yesterday.

Pours clear amber-orange with a medium sized head that settles into a thick even skin pretty quickly. Smell is orange and pine resin, lots of citrus.

Taste is loads of lemon and earthy bitter, moderate floral sweetness.

Mouthfeel is light, smooth, not exactly thin but not much more than that.

Here is a Helles Lager called "Old Evil" for no apparent reason, from Structures Brewing in Bellingham, Wash. Pairs well with the last of the hydrangeas.

Aromatic with tortillas and alfalfa. Lively and light mouthfeel. Flavor is a pleasing complex of corn, wheat cereal, and a touch of dark grapes. Highly drinkable, refreshing brew. The light flavor with the pleasing aromatics makes it a fine quaff.
