Mine Beer - Caribbean International Brewing - Belize - American Lager - 4.5%

This beer didn't impress me with the look. The head just dissipated instantly. The aroma is intriguing. The flavor made me a fan. I would drink it again.

This is a clear pouring beer and light golden in color. The head that formed was 1 finger but dissipated super fast with no lacing on the glass.
The aroma is quite pleasant. I get just a huge grain bill here with a pleasing floral hint to it.
The flavor starts off quite mellow. The cereal grain and floral elements do hit in a good way in the middle. The finish is full on biscuit.
Crisp, clean, smooth and light bodied.
This didn't look good, but I am totally digging it.

One more new beer to go. I will try it in a bit.

Indeed, you are the most informative bird.

It's funny you mention the carbonation ... sometimes you wonder "is it just me" and then find out, no, in fact, it's not just me. The beer's "creaminess" is likely nothing more than a lack of carbonation.

I need to look for the peach flavor you mention. The power of suggestion can put it there. It's definitely a fruity IPA and in a very good way. I've got a bad habit of thinking "grapefruit" immediately on tasting a hoppy fruit flavor, and I need to be a bit more open-minded.

    Hello, NBWers,

Been a while since I've contributed but today's the day.
Russian River Brewing Company's Double Dry Hopped Pliny the Elder. 8.0%

L - Just gloriously carbonated, delightful near ice cream soft-serve head of delicious foam, lacing as it descends. What else can I say? It's also see-through WC(D)IPA and damn it's sexy.

S - Maybe not as much pine/dank element as the usual Pliny, a bit brighter, more floral on the nose but not the beer's strongest point; some stone fruit pith, maybe some pine late on, but much more citrus than the regular.

T - Rallies like a champ; everything you expect in the OG plus that lifted note of citrus, more floral, a fresher bouquet perhaps without that sense of wet dank that i love in the original (?). Really nice, clean, perfectly balanced and smooth. Delish.

F - Among the better beers I've had recently for feel but for some reason falls a bit off the cliff for me on dryness. Doesn't linger as much in pine forest as the OG. Maybe I'll change my mind, but it's nice; again a lifted, brighter version, not as "round" on the palate as the original.

O - another knockout beer from RRV. This was bottled 1.14.25, opened 2.16.25 and enjoyed from about 40F to 50F as it warmed up. More floral as it warmed but still prefer the OG (I think).

Well, this is likely my last new beer of the trip, unless I find something else the next 5 days here. I thought I had to add this to the database, but it was already here.

This is a grain/malt beer as the name implies. The grains do get a touch sweet for my taste, but this beer isn't bad.

Clear golden pouring beer. There's a slight stream of carbonation bubbles rising in the glass. The head is 1 finger, white and dissipated fast with no lacing on the glass.
Aroma is light, but cereal grain on nature. Slight buttery biscuit aroma.
Taste - this beer is very full of grain flavors. I do get some cereal. I do get some buttery biscuit. I do get a very honey like sweetness in this beer. The sweetness does seem a touch much. Slight earthy and floral notes show up.
Clean, crisp, clear body. Light bodied, but not watery.
This is not bad at all. Light and easy drinking with a decent flavor profile.

I have 5 more days here, and I will enjoy the hell out of them. I doubt there will be any more reviews, but it is what it is. Cheers from the tropics.

And to be fair, I'll just add this. My own personal bias for modern hops is to lean towards a peachy/apricot/melon kind of taste. So we all have our hangups when it comes to this

Drekker 6-Minute Abs, 5.7% ABV. Pours dark-orange with a 4-finger white head that left light lacing. Aroma is coconut. Taste is coconut and light peach, moderately bitter. OK mouthfeel, overall very good.

My wife and daughter came home from puppy class utterly defeated last Thursday night because they were sure that our Penny had flunked the Akc K9 good citizen level. This is a prerequisite to the therapy dog certification. Both women are teachers and could bring our dog to school. Penny had an off night: distracted, teenager puppy syndrome. She passed, the instructer said she was ok, better most nights, and that she is fundamentally the type of dog that will flourish with different people.

Another Brooklyn brewed ipa found in the FLX area canned 1/15 poured 2/16 pours light yellow clouds with a resilient meringue head. Aroma is peach, passion fruit , white grape. Tastes follows along same lines with time the grapes become more pronounced. This OH is def juicy, very delectable, soft and sweet with mild bitter. Feels are smacky, finely buzzy carbonation. In the Other Half milieu this is on the juicy, sweet, milder bitter side of the family. It’s a hit!

Modest aroma of cereal and green herbs. Taste is grainy with a bit of astringency in the finish. There is a hint of green melon to start, but it devolves into a dark barky taste. Scratchy bitterish aftertaste is not much to my liking. This is decent and beery but a little on the coarse side. Kind of hot, even.

Alright @Premo88 I told you I'd clear and bitter IPA you back and here it is...I'm always hesitant with the smaller places and their WC IPA cause none usually live up to the clean character of the local ones I love. However; this one is new and I was able to grab a single so I did not risk to much, I gotta say it is actually pretty close to exactly what I want and is well worth trying, see below..

    New from New Trail Brewing...

New Trail - Trail Marker (WCIPA 6.5%)

Pours dirty gold, clear with light hazy; nice white head with decent cap retention.

The nose is pretty vibrant; zippy citrus, faint floral note, some light melon-like fruitiness, and pine.

Taste is lightly fruity but with really good classic hop character on backend; pithy orange citrus, pine, albeit a touch dampened my aforementioned fruit, but still prominent enough; it has a good appropriate malt presence.

Mouthfeel is medium; light in malt sweetness, nicely crisp on the finish with medium bitterness; it’s that nice tingly lingering bitterness that I love in IPA, it has good drinkability and is quite clean.

This is really actually a pretty accurate to style IPA; that little bit of fruit character gets in the way but not enough to know this one much, beer is a winner.

Have a great week everyone and hopefully we can find some good ones to share with each other for next weekend, see you then :beers:

Lowercase - Miner's Delight export lager

16oz can served in a curvy Monhegan pint glass. I cannot read the date stamped on the bottom. Bought it a couple hours ago at Chuck's Hop Shop Seward Park.

Pours clear golden, maybe a hint of haze, maybe a slight tilt in the direction of amber. Head on the pour was about two fingers, settles moderately slowly into a thick, clumping ring that nearly encapsulates the surface. Lacing looks chunky. Lots of active carbonation. Smell is primarily grainy, a little bit of bread yeast, some grassy/earthy hops going on in there too.

Taste is more on the citrus rind bitterness side than the aroma feinted towards. Still a satisfying truckload of grain and bread yeast. Grain tea sweetness.

Mouthfeel is rich, full, but clean. Overall, very nice beer.

Says FLX canned 1/14 poured 2/16 poured super looking pils with semi translucent golden yellow with a creamy thin head: handsome! Aroma is lemony, some mild spice peppery. Taste is lemon grass, more pepper, some bready grains, floral nuances. Feel is wonderful light, tasty, crisp, refreshing! This is a winner!

    Double Chocolate Stout By Rogue
    9% American Stout

Poured from a pint can, the body is a dark brown with a mocha colored head. Good lacing.

Aroma is a light chocolate with a trace of malty char.

Taste follows nose. Mostly chocolate but enough malt to satisfy. On finish, there is a light bitterness which dries up quickly but also imparts a mildly sweet fade. Nice.

Mouthfeel is good, mid weight and solid carbonation.

A tasty stout I casually sipped after a couple of hours outside. Less sweet and more bitter would ratchet this one into a higher level for my personal tastes.

Block 15 - The Incredible triple IPA

16oz can served in a pint glass. Can is dated 01/24/25. Bought it a few hours ago at Chuck's Hop Shop Seward Park. This can says it's 10.6%

Pours slightly hazy yellow color, medium sized head, maybe a finger or just shy. Leaves a thick skin and almost equally thick lacing, drooling down the sides of the glass. Smell is booze, grain, tons of honeysuckle and orange blossom, a little citrus zest. A little pine, some lemon rind.

Taste is boozy, sweet coconut, honeydew melon, orange blossom, orange cream.

Mouthfeel is thick, rich, almost chewy. Overall, quite tasty, nice beer.

Body pours an opaque apricot with short lived white head. Good lacing.

Aroma is a tropical delight with a breeze of Nelson. Very nice.

Taste follows nose and adds a good dose of watermelon and kiwi. A light bitterness appears, but its brief.

Mid-weight body with a soft mouthfeel. Good carbonation.

A nice drinking beer that I likely won’t seek out. Fans of watermelon ought to give it a whirl.

My first real clunker from Roughtail Brewing, the can art is the best thing about this beer

    Kolcshwerk, Kolcsh-style Ale, 4.8% ABV; 2.61 overall

Pours a bright & effervescent gold with 2+ fingers of fluffy pearl colored head. Very good lacing & above average head retention, stays effervescent throughout

S: Cereal, white grapes, smells more like fruit juice than beer

T: Pears, a little lemon, some crackery notes up front, sweet grainyness & dryness up front. Some grassy bitterness once warm, but overpowered by the sweetness. Finishes a little dry, way too sweet with faint grassyness

MF: Light/medium body, under carbonated for the style.

This misses the mark style-wise; hops aren't present & just too sweet. Easily the worst beer I've ever had from these guys, more like watered down apple juice with some grass blades thrown in
