Suffolk St. Session Ale from Royal City Brewing Co.

I didn't realize this until I set up the shot, but the red brick building in the background is illustrated on the can label.

Poured a 473ml can into a pint glass. A two finger, fine, off white head on a very dark copper. the head diminishes to a layer that sticks around to the end. Lots of fine lacing.

Caramel malts in the nose. tastes of bread, biscuit and grain. Some toffee emerges. A mild hop finish.

A somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Medium body and carbonation. Overall pretty good flavour for a low ABV beer. Smooth and sessionable.

Fauve Craft Bière (France) ‘Sensation Pure’ Imperial Stout / Chocolat - Caramel Buerre Salé

33 cl can poured into a Teku glass. Packed on 03/14/2025, that’s 6 weeks to this lip. 12% ABV, down from the 13.5% of the last iteration, produced in 2021.

OK - if it pours pretty (finger of foam on deep brown brew), smells great (candy store burnt caramel, intense chocolate), feels good in the mouth (medium-heavy body, medium carbonation).,. why 3.5 (generously) on the taste? The ingredients list everything you don’t wanna see in a Stout: “natural chocolate flavoring, natural salted caramel flavoring”. The syrups are cloying, oily, left an artificial aftertaste.
Dig Fauve’s beers - but this is a miss, even for this fan of Pastry Stout. Or, as @Whyteboar said above - I want to taste the beer!

    3.68/5 in the BA DB.

Good Sunday morning and thanks @bbtkd for the excellent kick off this week.
Its grey and cool here in the 413, this did not dampen the spirit here in the Valley as it is full on Pride weekend. Always a busy time in our area.
Todays offering is from North Coast Brewing, a straight down the barrel dry stout.
Some reviews had this close to an export, Im not in that camp. I would however love to try this on Cask!
    Enjoy your day all

A - Dark brown color, not much light makes it through. A creamy off white cap last quite a while. Lacing is spot on.
S - Milk chocolate, a light roast malt thread in there, As the offering warms a hint of coffee and bit of char emerge'
T - A bit of char upfront, then again with the cocoa, and roast malt. There is a hint of hops,
M - Light on the palate, easy drinking offering. with a linger of roast malt. Excellent dry finish
O - A very good, stout that is easy to understand. Delicious

    Bad Weather Act of Grod
    [IMG]
Appearance: Hazy pale yellow, enormous head.

Smell: Light smoked ham, a little tart tanginess.

Taste: Starts with a little tartness, then shifts to a mild smokiness, some wheat bread. Light, dry. Finishes with a mix of light smoke and tartness.

Overall: I'm always on the lookout for smoked beers, saw that Bad Weather had a grodziskie on tap so made immediate plans to visit. It is a really tasty version, nice smokiness and a a tartness that is mild, not as strong as a lichtenhainer. I wish more breweries would do grods, I think they are great summer beers!

From a 16oz can Best by date 06/18/2025

This beer is super clear looking in the glass and golden in color. There's a lot of carbonation bubbles that rise in the glass to produce a 2 finger white head. The head is fluffy looking and the head retention is decent. There's some nice lacing on the glass.
There's so much grain in the aroma, it is just so powerful. There's a nice floral aroma to this beer. There's a hint of a honey like sweetness that tickles my nose.
The flavor starts out with a honey like sweetness. This dissipates fast and goes to a grain flavor. This grain flavor is added to on the finish with a total floral flavor bomb that is so tasty and it lingers.
The beer is crisp and clean feeling. The carbonation bubbles tickle my throat.
Damn, this beer is totally delicious. Very well made overall.

Taking it somewhat easy today, but I'll probably enjoy one more before the NBW ends. Cheers!

There is no bad time to visit the PNW to drink beer. But fresh hop season (late summer/early fall) is something special and glorious.

If Ruse makes Fresh Hop Dad Moon Rising again this year, I'll send you some.

Our trip actually coincided with early fresh hop season; it couldn’t have worked out better. It was a rescheduled covid wedding. And thanks to that rescheduling I packed a whole box of fresh hop go take home as checked luggage

On that last part…You don’t need to, but god would that be amazing.

We had a pop-up thunderstorm last night, the first precipitation in I don't know how long. Maybe it will help reduce the dust storms that are happening way too often.
Anyway, I'm drinking another MORE Brewing Company beer, this one is Wild Liberties, a dry hopped saison with Barbe Rouge hops,
Gold color, slight haze. Big white head that persisted well. No lace.
Aroma of spice, fruit, and herbal hops.
Taste follows the nose. Spice, fruit, late hops. Warming in the throat.
    Medium-bodied.
