Grains of Wrath Wreaks of Resin
    (collaboration with Burgeon Beer Co.)
16-ounce can purchased at Belmont Station, Portland, OR. Date stamp reads "GOW 10/30/25". Enjoyed in a nonic half-pint glass.

This clear golden beer with butter yellow highlights sports a fluffy head of snowy white foam that doesn't offer much retention but leaves bountiful lacing. The nose leads with a burst of pine seasoned with plenty of orange peel. The taste inverts the nose, opening with orange zest followed by pine. The orange flavor turns juicy and mildly tart through the middle. Notes of grapefruit and pine sap add interest, along with an intriguing black pepper note. The beer is a hair too sweet, but I like the bold finishing bitterness. Overall it's a very good WCIPA which doesn't quite live up to the impressive pedigree of the collaborating brewers.

    Birrificio Italiano - Tipopils

330ml bottle served in a curvy Fremont glass. Don't see a date on it. Bought it in late August at Full Throttle Bottles.

Pours a hazy soft amber-gold with a big head that dissipates quickly into a thick uneven pillowy layer with about a finger and a half of lacing up the side of the glass. Smell is grassy and green with a lemony lager tang.

Taste is similar, maybe moves a bit toward lime instead of lemon, generally soft and grainy with a nice soaring citrusy hops note throughout.

Mouthfeel is light and soft and smooth. Overall, pretty good.

tonight Im sharing a kolsch style beer from Two Coast Brewing in LA. Courtesy of Mr yellow beer himself, @Resistance88 ! thank you Tomas! The beer registers 4.8%.

    onto my review:

I am sampling a lightly chilled 16 oz can and pouring into my .3L stange.
There is no date stamp on the can or label.
Beer pours a bright clear golden hue with a fluffy bleached white head of about 2.5 cm foaming up. This foam slowly fades to a sturdy edging and leaves soapy lattice on the sides of my glass.
There are a few lazy streams of carbonation rising to the surface but they dont really replenish the foam.
Aroma is some light cereal malt and i get a good bit of white grape here. I often get this scent in kolsch beers. Otherwise the nose isnt super robust , but I find it suitable for the style.
First sip reveals a light body with very smooth texture and fine tingly carbonation. The carbonation is actually fairly gentle and the beer drinks very easy.
Flavor is similar to the nose for me, with some cereal malt, a little white grape fruitiness and here some grassy hop notes rolls through the finish. never any hint of the ABV, which is low, but definitely hidden.
A nice refreshing kolsch style beer. Glad to have tried it!

Okay last new beer of the weekend Great Divide Horchata Yeti, 9.5% ABV; 3.64 overall ( I was being kind )

Pours an effervescent ebony with a pinky of mocha colored head. Traces of head retention & average lacing, plenty viscous

S: Tons of cinnamon, a little vanilla

T: Plenty of cinnamon, vanilla, honey & faint coffee notes, a little dryness up front. More cinnamon & vanilla sweetness, a little coffee roastyness once warm. Finishes a little dry with copious cinnamon & vanilla cream & just a little coffee

    MF: Medium body, moderate carbonation

Delivers on the promised flavor, my problem is I can't stand that much cinnamon in a beer, not enough other flavors to counter it> I will bury these other three & hope the cinnamon fades over time. That or blend this with some super coffee forward brew. I actually like Horchata with some tacos. Hard to believe this is this hefty ABV wise

I am usually not too wild about a lot a cinnamon & this is no exception. This would probably go great with some Flan or super spicy green chile burrito

Sampling a .33l bottle lightly chilled and pouring into my .3L stange. the beer is date stamped 09/04/2026. So must be a best before date!
Beer is courtesy of @Resistance88, thank you for smuggling this one back for me!!
The beer pours a clear champagne color and rests slightly darker gold in the glass. A fizzy bleached white head of 1.5 cm foams up and fades to a thin wispy collar around my glass. Several very active streams of carbonation rise to the surface.
Aroma on this beer is a bit of light cereal malt and a little black tea hop note. No hint of ABV.
First sip reveals a light body with very fine carbonation and a smooth texture. The beer drinks very easy.
Flavor is light but features cereal grainy notes , some light fruity note and finishes very dry with a bit of crisp hop bite (black tea flavor too).
Never any hint of the ABV. This is a very drinkable brew and I am happy to have had the chance to sample and review. Id drink it again.

Greenhouse Aleworks - ZZ Plant, 10% IIIPA via @russpowell

12oz can served in a curvy Fremont glass. Don't see a date on the can.

Pours murky dingy gray-amber, little head, not much carbonation. Looks thick. Smell is tropical fruit, overripe, noticeable booze. Some mango skin.

Taste is along the same lines, doubles down on the overripe tropical fruit but the fruit skin is still quite strong. Resin bitterness has a presence, too, but it's masked and altered by all the juice and booze.

Mouthfeel is thick, chewy. Overall, nice beer.

This was easily my favorite Kölsch of the 7 or so breweries i hit in Köln.
I drank at least a half gallon of this one at the brewery (end of day before catching train back to Brusells)
Glad i could bring one across the pond for you and wish i could have brought a whole barrel!

One more...Now it's Late Night NBS.

    Beachside Reset
    16 oz can
Pretty. Bronzy gold in color. Fluffy white head is firm, sticks around and leaves some clumpy lacing.
Nose citrus, peach, berry and some generally green freshness.
Flavor leans in on the citrus notes; orange and tangerine. Then some peach and apricot before a mildly herbal green grass.
Mouthfeel is just light of medium, good carbonation level, and finishes moldy dry in its bitterness.

One more for the end of the weekend:

Fremont Hazelnut & Vanilla Barrel-Aged Cuvee

This beer is a mixed bag. The hazelnut flavor is very nice, and there's lots of it. Sweetness is significant but not over the top. The vanilla is a little overpowering (not my thing, but you might like it). Right on the heels of the vanilla is an odd and fleeting tartness. It doesn't taste like an infection, but it also doesn't taste like it belongs there. Finally, it's got some good barrel character, but it has more alcohol heat than bourbon flavor. Good roasted malt flavor in the finish does a decent job of grounding the beer. Not a bad beer, and it's quite good value for the price. Overall, though, it doesn't fit together well. While I'm not sorry I tried it, I probably won't seek it out again.

This "CUVEE" series of beers has been major Hit or Miss. When it hits it's OK though. Really wish they'd put out an Impy Forward one( stout without stuff in it)
Hope the guys at SeattleHospitalityGroup keep letting the folks at Fremont do their thing though.
